My prayers go out to the family of Unclestink. Paul unfortunately passed away earlier this morning. Please keep his wife, Debbie, daughter Ashley, and son Matt in your prayers. The Big Red family has lost a great fan, but even a greater husband and father.
God Bless

I remember him from the "other" site. Seemed like a good guy. How old a gentleman was he if I may ask?

Paul was only 53, and helped me tremendously on our website. He has been Big Red's statistician for over 20 years. He will be missed by all Big Red fans. My heart felt condolances to his family.

What a sad, sad day this is. I've known him for basically my entire life. When I was a kid, he rented out half of my grandparents property (Hauser's Furniture) where he opened a computer store. Through the years, he was always present at all Big Red football, baseball and basketball games. If I ever had a question pertaining to anything Big Red related, I knew who to talk to.
A truly nice man. My thoughts go out to his family.
Paul will be greatly missed.
RIP

Years ago I worked in the fuel business. There was a service station at 3rd and south st in Steubenville. I used to talk with a man named Paul that was a big fan of steuby sports. I never knew his last name but he was a very nice guy. There was an older man that ran the station and Paul was his right hand man. I wonder if this could be the same guy? This would've been about 25 yrs ago.

This is a time to be with those people closest to your heart and soul in life; family and friends, it is important to celebrate in true Irish fashion. I will offer my respects to Paul and toast our dearly departed with a good stiff drink tonight.
This came as such a shock to me and the rest of the big red nation. I was introduced to Paul during the yrs I was helping out the team in the mid 80's and early 90's. And then later through rollredroll.com where he provided the game/season summaries and stats for us.
With the passing of my father in 84' at 45 yrs old. It has given me some idea of the depth and power of the emotions released when a family loses a member, a wife her partner and the children their father.
I think it is fair to say that it has been my experience that these emotions and the transformation that they create in the lives of those who grieve are as unpredictable and unsettling as they are profound and enduring.
I'm sorry I won't be able to attend Paul's wake and funeral since I live in Florida. But, like words, gatherings bring much comfort, especially where the life being celebrated inspires laughter as well as tears. There was much laughter at the celebration of my father's life. I'm sure there will be at the celebration of Paul's as well.
The Sullivan's thoughts and prayers are with Paul's family.
RIP

By chance is this the same Paul that spent his summers at Cene Park in Youngstown and was a freelance statistician for ESPN?
