For non-compliance with the current staff. According to Bearcatlair. Can't post the article bc it's premium, but this is pretty big news.

I have to wonder if it has anything to do with his position change... but you would think that he would have done something under Kelly, who moved him to LB. Either way not too big of a loss. Yeah he's an incredible athlete, but he was entering his last year of eligibility I believe and still hadn't found his niche.

LittleDanny what do you think?

Why is it important to mention he was at Notre Dame?

I'm not a ND hater, don't worry.

I mentioned it because more people will remember his as a ND player on this site than as a UC player. He left ND on good terms.

Does the article say why he was kicked off? Or did he leave on his own?

If Notre Dame isn't relevant, why do people always mention "former Notre Dame player" when a transfer of theirs does something notable?

Notre Dame isn't relevant in the sense of being Championship contenders, however they still have a huge fan base, and most of their players are pretty well known, especially guys who start at QB.

No offense to Karen.....but I think it makes sense to mention that he's a former ND QB. Let's face it....that is how most people know who he is.

He got into Kelly's doghouse about midway through last year when he lost his starting linebacker position. Not a surprise, it is a story, but not shocking

He didn't exactly leave Notre Dame on good terms. Very childish way of leaving and this doesn't really surprise me.

No offense taken. Still why was he kicked off of the team?

The one thing that concerns me is UC already has serious depth concerns at the LB coming into next season. I am not sure of what happened with Demetrius Jones as of yet. Could be a number of issues. Regarding last season, if i recall he first got hurt and was replaced by Walter Stewart. Stewart played lights out and Jones could not win the spot back. Him being in the dog house certainly did not help his cause as far as getting playing time.

As far as referring him as "former ND QB", that is not anything different than what always happens when someone plays at one big school and transfers to another. People will soon hear a lot about "former USC WR" Vidal Hazelton. It's not just as UC though, as I remember Mitch Mustain and Darrin Williams at USC were always referred to as former Arkansas players and Ryan Mallett is always referred to as a former Michigan QB.

I actually had no idea he was at UC... but I do recognize his name from ND.

I think it was relevant to call him a former ND player because that's how the majority of people will recognize him.
