The score is tied with Orlando with five minutes remaining. Who are YOUR five players on the floor to close out this game (and get you to the NBA Championship) and why?

This question was posed by Reghi on his "Bump & Run" segment on WKNR and there were some interesting answers.

Have at it.....

Mo,Delonte,James,Jamison,Shaq

Don't have to double Howard with Shaq on the court...and I just like West better than Parker when the game is on the line. We would have to hope to outscore them because defensively our guards have been bad. Just my opinion though.

And I don't trust JJ to be out there...he'd probably get an offensive rebound and get too excited and pass it to Jemeer Nelson

Way too many variables to consider.

-What players are hot/cold
-Who does Orlando have on the floor

If Howard isn't on the floor then you go Mo/West/James/Jamison/AV.

If Howard is on the floor then I'd consider two options. Either the lineup above or insert Shaq for AV.

I heard Reghi talking about this yesterday. vs Orlando I have to go with... Reghi. (Crazy thought) but I would almost want to switch Jamison for Moon for defense.

Delonte
Lebron
Jamison
Andy
Shaq

Let's say Orlando goes with this, which I think is who was on the floor to end the game vs the Lakers on Sunday

Nelson
Barnes
Carter
Lewis
Howard

Nelson
Barnes
Carter
Lewis
Howard
Williams against Nelson
West against Carter
LeBron against Lewis (this should be done imo but unlikely)
Jamison against Barnes
Shaq against Howard.

Jamison needs to be in to spread the floor for Shaq and LeBron to work with each other. I put him on Barnes defensively as Barnes would be option #5 offensively with the lineup given above.

Mo will always be on the court for Cleveland late in games. He is our PG and when he plays well Cleveland is virtually unbeatable. West guards Carter very well despite the height difference, West is also the best guard for Cleveland as far as attacking the rim and going one on one.

There are too many variables to answer this question.

The most likely line up is Mo, Delonte, LeBron, Andy and Shaq.

If Howard was out with foul trouble (which means he'd have to be fouled out with 5 minutes left) then I think JJ would be in the game for Shaq--the activity that he and Andy bring on the offensive class is game changing in the last 5 minutes of a game.

Could also see Parker, Moon or Jawad in for Delonte as well, depend of course on which Magic lineup is on the floor--but Delonte would certainly be the first option.

All that being said, I don't see Cleveland/Orlando going 7.

I'm not a Cavs fan but assuming no real foul trouble for either team and with Orlando putting out the players mentioned above:

Williams
West
Lebron
Jamison/Varejao
Shaq

Shaq has to be in to guard Howard, obviously Lebron is in, Williams is in to direct traffic and guard Nelson, West is more versatile than Parker. Jamison and Varejao is a toss up depending on whether the Cavs would be winning or losing going into that final stretch. Problem with AV guarding Lewis is it takes him away from the middle to get boards and draw charges. Jamison is more of a threat offensively but not as good a defender as Varejao so it's hard to say on the PF position.

How many timeouts?

I think I'd go with...

Delonte for the first 2 minutes, Mo for the End of the game.
Parker
Lebron
Jamison
Shaq

I think you have to try to have shaq in there to prevent the dagger threes that killed us last year off the double team.

Can't have Shaq nor PoonTawn on the floor. Hack-a-player is too tough to overcome. If you can't make half your free throws, then it's pine time in crunch time.

This has probably already been addressed...but PoonTawn? Really? That's the best degrading nickname you can come up with for him? That's just bad. Sounds like something a 5th grader would call him. Was it a hard choice between that and ButtTawn? BoogerTawn? JerkTawn? Come on, really?!?!

The rest of us have just ignored him, and his hatred for Jamison, even though Jamison has been great since joining the Cavs.

Please don't ignore me any more. I just can't take the emotional stress and all.
