Alright, I'm doing my taxes but I am very confused about something. My gross wages and what is in box 1 of my W-2 are different, as well as local wages. Local and gross are the same, but box 1 is $2,300 lower. My question is why is there a discrepancy between the two? All of my pay is the same, no tips, I make a certain amount every two weeks. If I report what's in box 1 I'll get $1600 back, if I report gross I'll get $1000 back, I'm just confused why they're different. Thanks for any help.
