On a slightly different subject, there is one thing that even I do not understand about homosexuality. I could never comprehend why there are so many devout gay Christians. Christianity obviously does not want us, so why do so many of us want it? Some of my closest gay friends are Adventists. They follow the Old Testament (as well as New Testament) to the letter-- no pork, no shellfish, and they worship on Saturdays even though they are Christians. Yet they are sexually active gays who seem to have no conflict. I also have some gay Catholic friends who feel they are as religious as the most religious straight people. I have asked my friends about their beliefs, but I have never gotten a good answer. My friends, gay and straight, know I'm an atheist and they tend not to share their beliefs with me for fear of offending me, I guess. Or maybe they don't want me to offend them.
Anyone want to take a stab at this?
Christianity is man's acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. To become a Christian is to make a concerted effort to turn from living a sinful life. That is to say, we do not purposely live, doing that which we know to be wrong against God. Search the scriptures, Old and New Testament's (Romans 1:26-32), and you will find that it entails what sin is including homosexuality.
You can repent, seek the Lord's forgiveness and salvation. That does mean however that you have to truly turn from your sin, whatever it may be.
Those such as the ministers and congregation that "confess" Christ, yet openly live a life that is against God should really question their confession of Christ. They know their heart, and so does the Lord.
"Jesus answered him and said unto him, "If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him."" John 14:23
"By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous." I John 5:2-3
This encouragement to obedience of God's word is given to "ALL" men.
As well, the discipline and punishment for disobedience is available to "ALL" men who deny God!
Know that there is no special rule against the homosexual as he is a sin before God as is the liar, envious, covetous and murderer.
