Smithville (23-1) advances to the Regional Semifinals (sweet 16) with a 65-36 win over Akron Manchester (22-2). Smithies led by 9 after 1 quarter, 18 at the half and held a 20+ point lead for most of the 2nd half with Jenna Pew scoring a game high 22 points (17 in the 2nd half). Also scoring in double figures were Alex Leister (11), Sophmore Tara Schaffter (10) and Freshman Kylie Frizell (10).
Smithville will face the Mineral Ridge winner, either Youngstown Ursuline or Campbell Memorial.
