Griner should have been suspended for the rest of the season. She sucker punched this other girl in the face. I have a feeling if the white girl had thrown the punch this article would not have appeared. Her race articles are getting old, and ESPN is at fault for allowing this terrible reporter to continue.

Also, this Griner chick looks like a man.

I didn't see it.

FWIW, I thought this was a piece where she actually made some decent points.

As for the girl being suspended the rest of the season....well, there's what? 1 game, and then the conference tourney?

Keeping her out of the NCAA's would be hit or miss, I can't say I would care either way.

What good points are there? She didn't blatantly mention race, but she compares it to what a white girl did and said it wasn't as bad, which I would argue with. She also says it is different then Blount's, it isn't, and at least the kid was looking at Blount when he did it. She plays the card that people are judging her badly because she was a woman, which is ridiculous, the same coverage would have happened for a man doing it. BTW, I mentioned race because after reading the comments, and remembering she only writes about race, I think she only wrote it because of who threw the punch. If it was any other author I probably wouldn't think it was about race, but she is the one that wrote it.

TOTALLY agree with the thread title and the basis of it, she's a racist, annoying, bitch. And a terrible reporter for sure. I can't stand her, and ESPN only keeps her around because she does write that way--it stirs things up. That's how ESPN is now. They like to stir the pot, her racial bullshit does that.

BUT, you sir, are the biggest moron here because you picked out just about the only Hill article I've read in which she doesn't sound like a racist idiot.

I agree with what she said in this argument. She compared it to the white soccer player and said that it wasn't as bad--you're right she did that, and she is TOTALLY right. Has nothing to do with race, it was just a comparison to another incident that involved the NCAA handling fighting. And the white chick was 100 times worse than this sucker punch.

She also compares it to what a black man did, and says it wasn't as bad. Your argument is spotty. Like SQ stated...I mean, I don't know Hill, so I can't call her a racist, but she's written many articles that people would consider race baiting, at worst....this isn't even close to one of them.

And I think there would be MORE coverage, if nothing else, if this were a man doing this. Much like Jalen Rose stated on the segment clip.

Well, it does make a difference that one was a provoked action, and the other was a REPEATED non provoked thing.

Really, the soccer event, some of the blame needs to go to the refs/coach as well. That girl should have been out of the game.

But there's no way that singular punch was worse than that entire display.

I love this... one of the time honored "bash (insert thing the Huddle collectively hates)" arises and people actually read the article and formulate good opinions. This has nothing to do with race... and surprisingly, she didn't make it a race issue either.

The comparison to Blount and that crazy soccer chick were fair game as both happened this year and were highly publicized... much like this. And for the record, if you think you can legitimately argue what that soccer girl did wasn't much worse than Griner then you're crazy.

I didn't think the article was racist, I think she only wrote it because of the race of the player involved. And I still don't think a dirty soccer player is as bad as sucker punching another girl in the face. One broke a nose while the other pulled someones hair, which I agree was bad. The forearm in the back was after she got punched in the stomach, and the take downs were just hard challenges. Griner punched a chick blatantly in the face! No one should be writing an apathetic article about either girl, which is why I have a problem with her defense of this incident.

Yeah, luckily no one got injured. You can't honestly watch that video and tell me the sucker punch was worse. Seriously, you've got to be nuts to think that.

And I think she wrote the article because that is her job. Most of them she adds a bullshit racial spin to, but in this case she wrote an opinion piece on an issue, period. Which is her job.

Jemele Hill is most definately a race bater. If not a bitter black woman. She has been suspended/and or reprimanded for comments like these..............regarding the Celtics vs Pistons matchup in 2008. " I cant root for the Celtics ever!! I just disagree that she said what Blount did was worse. The Boise player came up after the game hit him on the shoulder pad and ran his mouth, there is no referee in charge at that point...it is similar to doing it in the parking lot or out in public....he was trying to provoke. This girl did it during a game, a foul was called, the situation was under control, the girl who fouled her was not being confrontational and it was a complete sucker punch. Blount just spun and threw the punch, this girl ran up on an unexpected player. I was fouled much harder as a playe rand have fouled harder, there is times you know its coming and/or you understand the situation. There should be a sever punishment in my opinion.

I agree with her point that Blount made it worse for himself by responding to the fans though. But I get what you're saying.
