Doesn't change the fact that he can't finish the season healthy. I'll be the first to admit the dude is great at what he does but guys like him and Bob Sanders who use their bodies like battering rams have short shelf lives.

I do know that Ben wont be at the off-season workouts starting tomorrow so that there isn't any distractions for the other players.

Getting some insurance behind TP is not a bad idea. I wouldn't replace him, but I'd start looking for a solid back up this year. He's getting up there and has had injury plagued season in the past. Clearly when healthy you're not going to have someone on the roster to beat him out for a starting spot.

Heard this morning the Steelers have told Ben to stay away from workouts with the team. Not sure if the work outs are voluntary or mandatory but big Ben won't be there.

This isn't really a big deal and kind of expected (from any organization that would be dealing with a situation like this). I'm sure the Steelers don't want these workouts to become a media circus with all of the reporters.
