Sounds to me like a settlement is in process or has already been reached. Without her testimony (which Ben is most certainly buying off) there can be no criminal case (or at least not a very strong one).

I'm sure the check will be written any day now.

This is exactly how rich pukes handle situations like a sexual assault accusation.
Well, now her lawyer is saying she IS cooperating and has interviews scheduled. I guess those checks that were almost certainly written certainly were not.

No DNA, no video footage and there doesn't seem to be any real evidence against Ben. Only way he rights a check is if Goodell and/or Rooney tell him to make it go away.

How often on this forum does ANYONE'S opinion get asked for as it pertains to random jibber-jabber about pro sports teams and players? Maybe BR and Non, as they tend to spend more time doing nerd activities like reading, so they're usually in possession of the scoop (or rumored scoop) pertaining to their clubs, but they're exceptions to that rule.

Like hell, on this thread, I doubt anyone really asked for anyone's opinion...and considering we have about 600+ posts of generally mindless babble here, it doesn't look like anyone waited to be asked for their opinion.

I doubt the owner cares about Ben Roethlisberger. He's covering his own ass. This could cost him his liquor license and be out of business.

I mean, there's potentially footage on there that could have helped Roethlisberger's case. And it's already been stated there were no cameras in the VIP and certainly not in the hall or the bathroom, so the most likely scenario is the cameras didn't contain anything pertinent or conclusive. Probably at best you would have had a few frames of people exiting the bar.

Goodell/Rooney say "make it go away" or face 4+ game suspension. Simple math.

Sounds like the girl was really drunk and probably went in that bathroom voluntarily while Ben's buddy guarded the door. Now the tapes are unrecoverable. Regardless something happened in that bathroom and the girl felt violated. Actually I think Ben needs to grow up or something but he isn't the only man that has got a girl drunk. Girls need to be smarter. As much as I hate Ben Roethlisberger this girl is responsible too. Some chicks just never learn.

ESPN is reporting that the authorities have a video taken by someone in Ben's entourage. It's sounding more and more like there's very little to no evidence what so ever.

Saw reports said it was really nothing. Unless it shows her hanging all over him....even then, if it's not immediately before/after the alleged incident it's not particularly relevant.

Bartender or owner said the girls walked out like normal at 1:45. Be interesting to know what happened over the next 45 minutes when she supposedly went to the cop in tears. He was apparently as surprised as Ben and his group (who were still there at 2:30) when cops came in.

Steelers are kinda weak at QB after Ben. This shouldn't come as a shock. I'd expect them to draft a QB regardless of the Roethlisberger outcome. I know they were at Jevan Snead's Pro Day earlier scouting him. With that soup bowl/ Jim Carrey "Dumb & Dumber" haircut he'd fit right in.

Um signing batch was something inevitable even before this happened.

Dixon almost beat balt...in balt...in primetime. He isnt ben..thats for sure...but may be able to spot start and do OK and steal a game.

LOL, that post is proof that you don't know what your talking about. Batch was on local radio in Pittsburgh yesterday and he said this was an on going process after the Steelers solidified their free agency signings. He knew he was in the Steelers plans and that they were going to sign him again but thanks for that expert analysis.

What the fuck are you talking about "Super Homer?" What part of " This shouldn't come as a shock" don't you get? The Batch signing WAS expected.

They are still weak at QB after Ben. You can click your heals a thousand times in your "Super Homer-like" way and say "there's no place like home" but Dixon isn't getting you back to Kansas if Roethlisberger goes down or worse. They SHOULD be looking at QB depth in this draft.

Doubt they will draft a QB.....if so it would be very late and just as a TC guy..and at that they would be just best to pick up an UFA.

Need 4 arms in camp...they have three right now. No need to draft a guy ya dont intend to have a chance making the roster.

Yeah. With Ben, Dixon and Batch on the roster, they have no need to draft a QB unless they're looking for a low-round guy they can put in development, but aren't looking to have make an impact in the near future. Ben's the man; Dixon can step in and be serviceable in the short-term; Batch is a good "in case of emergency" third-stringer.

From everything I've read, I'm guessing there's probably isn't much behind the allegations other than Ben being a dumbass and randomly trolling for random drunk chicks in a random bar in a random state (which is the sort of thing the franchise really has to put their foot down on...when you're making that much money to be a cornerstone of your organization, it's time to leave the "stupid, drunk frat boy" routine in the dust.

Then again, I could be wrong. From what certain others have read, apparently Ben and "his people" (which includes the Rooneys and possibly the commish) have paid off the girl, her friends, everyone in the bar, the bar owner, the cops, the DA and possibly every single person in the entire state of Georgia to keep things hush-hush.

What am I talking about, here's what.............you're a clueless fool! You come out and say the Steelers are weak at QB when in FACT they aren't! You say they should draft a QB when Batch has been in their plans for months. Although, you should know all about weak QB's..........Seneca Wallace and Jake Dellhome!
