I look forward to seeing everyone a week from Thursday. Last year we had close to 50 kids here, and pre-registration is strong. By the way - if you pre-register, you get the T-shirt the first night.

Because of the age variances and nature of the club, I used this approach last year, and it worked out very well. My usual approach is to build off technique taught in previous sessions. We do this to some extent - we will do a short speed drill of the previous week's technique - but then we take a whole new area and work on just that area the remainder of the practice. A good example - last year we spent a session on mat returns (you are behind your opponent and have to return him to the mat). This is an area that is often overlooked in wrestling, but is a very important skill. Another area is leg countering. Almost nobody is good at countering legs, and most make all the basic mistakes in attempting to do so.

Athletes of all ages can grasp these concepts, although some techniques will go over the heads of the very young - but there will be things every week that they will get, too.

I hope to publish a list on my website of some of the areas we'll be covering, so athletes can see in advance what they'll be learning.

This week, we will work on the Single Leg takedown - execution of the shot, a few setups, and finishes. We will include some advanced finishes, such as for the split the middle position. Every athlete should have a very good single leg takedown in their arsenal. You can get yours Thursday night.

Opening Night is now just a day away! You can sign up online and get your t-shirt the first night - or bring the form and come tomorrow. Try to get there early so we can get registration taken care of.

Tomorrow night, March 25, we will have Day Two of this club. Last week, we taught two setups, excellent form, and two finishes, to the Single Leg takedown.

On the agenda this week: Leg turns, including tilts. Very exciting stuff! Turn the opponent easily with legs.

Tonight we work on the Over-Under position and teach you how to not get thrown in it, as well as how to attack your opponent from this key position. We will also teach you how to counter the head & arm. Come Thursday and learn how to Always Win from this position!

Be sure to tell your friends - there is still time to come and train with me.
