Should be interesting to see how the birds respond to their new coach and how quickly they adapt to the new system.

Centerburg, again, has a ton of potential this year. The key will be how well the boys play together as a team. If they support each other and don't let any egos get in their way, they'll take the conference and make a strong run in the post season.

What the hell is going on in Utica? Heard from a few people at the girls game tonight that the boys looked TERRIBLE in their scrimmage/exhibition thing against Granville last night. Dassylva did not dress, all I was told was some sort of 'discipline' issue. Obviously, without him it changes Utica's game a lot, but from what I understand (and this was from mulitple people), the rest of the team did not look good at all. Is this the same team that won back to back MBC titles just 2 years ago? They HAVE talent, and my guess is they'll look better with Dassylva when he returns, and most of these guys were on those teams that won the conference twice, so they should know what it's like to win. So my question is, is this coaching-related? I mean with Dassylva, Kyle and Kevin Walton, Jason Hoar, Joe Metzger and several other guys who saw playing time on varsity last season, and the athleticism they bring to the table, how can they look as bad as what I've been hearing? Anyone go to the scrimmage, or have any info??

RSP - Last year I was told by many people to give the new guy a chance, so all I can tell you, is the honeymoon is over. Let's see what happens, it won't take long to realize if there is a problem, what the problem is. Until then I will hope for the best. Go Skins !

Is anybody interested in being part of our text message update ring? I can give at least halftime and final scores, and most the time I can give quarterly. PM me, and we can exchange cell phone numbers.

What's going on in conference. The Redbirds have started off slowly, what is everyone else up to.

Nice win for the Redskins last night. I still stand by my coaching comment, but I'm happy for the boys, and most especially Justin that they could get a win. He can't load the team on to his back any more than he has in all their games this year, and they can't expect him to do it all himself. I was at work last night, but I heard it was by far the best "team" game we've played this year, with Dassylva still dropping in 21. Hopefully we keep this rolling in the right direction.

Nice to see Utica get a couple back to back wins this week. Hope they can keep the train rolling after the break.

The paper I used to use for MBC scores (http://www.thisweeknews.com/live/content/hoopitup/index.html) is not doing so hot at reporting scores this year. Can anyone help me out? Thanks!

I am out of town from Jan 2 - Jan 11. So entering scores and keeping up-to-date will have to wait until I get back home. To help me out, PLEASE can someone send me a nightly email with a list of all MBC scores (or scores from MBC teams)? I would greatly appreciate getting back and having emails with scores in them rather than having to search for all the scores like I normally do on game night. Thanks!!

Redbirds go on the road and beat an old conference rival Clear Fork on Saturday night.
