1st Team
Anthony Henderson - 6'2 Guard, Start - Sr.
Jay Springs - 6'1 Guard, St. Johns - Sr.
Robert Davis - 6'3 Guard, Bowsher - Jr.
Drew Lehman - Anywhere from 5'10 to 6'1 depending on who you ask
, Guard - CCHS - Jr.
Storm Stanley - 6'11, Center - St. Francis - Sr.
2nd Team
Cheatam Norrils - 5'11, Guard - St. Johns - Jr.
KeShean Harris - 6'1 Guard - Waite - Jr.
Nigel Hayes - 6'6 Guard/Forward - Whitmer - Fr.
Marc Loving - 6'7 Guard/Forward - St. Johns - Fr.
Maurice Taylor - 6'3 Guard/Forward - Libbey - Jr.
3rd Team
Damond Powell - 5'10 Guard - Rogers - Jr.
Lonacy Utley - 6'3 Forward - Libbey - Jr.
Kenny Hayes - 6'5 Forward - Whitmer - Jr.
Tony Mayes - 6'3 Guard/Forward - Soph.
Take your pick from here...Taylor Schabel (6'4 G/F) frm Clay, anyone of the SF guards, Dareon Jones, Nate Hobbs, Libbey's Underwood, Woodward's Hooker?
POY - Drew Lehman (I'm sure many will burn me at the stake for not saying Henderson, but if it was up to me as to who I'd pick to surround my team around it would be Drew Lehman).

Irish, actually great list, no matter how tall anyone is. Someone told me the 1st team would be six players, so that's what I went with. Also, what about Quincy Caldwell from Rogers -- decent scorer and rebounder. And no Antonio Allen from Waite? Averaged 12 ppg. and 2nd in the TCL in rebouinding. Also, not sure I'd go with Loving or N. Hayes on 2nd team if I was choosing three teams. This is an opinion board. Thanks for sharing yours.
**P.S.: Did you see the Frosh/JV title games on Friday night? If so, any observations?

I completely forgot about Allen and Caldwell. To be honest, I think you could make a case for just about anyone mentioned above but I'd think we'd all agree there are about 8 who have a legit shot at TCL first team. Matter of fact, in my opinion, Springs, Henderson, and Lehman are the only 'for sures'. Like you said though, just an opinion board.
I did not make it to the frosh/JV games but I did see the outcomes. It looks to me like CCHS is establishing themselves in basketball the same way that they did in football when Dempsey took over. Welling and Mouch certainly have that program headed in the right direction and the talent that both schools have in the frosh/soph classes is deep.

vball10set: I reported the results of the Freshmen and JV championship games a couple of days ago on the "Top Freshmen in the State" thread and there was another post providing more details on the games and the players. Might want to take a look if you're interested in those teams and players. SJJ won the freshmen game over Central by a good margin and Central beat SJJ in the JV game by four.

Be interesting to see if the cities top teams make it back to the district finals. Can CCHS keep playing at a high level? Playing Waite Friday will be no easy task. Can SJJ recover? Did CCHS expose SFS by double teaming the post? Can Whitmer with all that talent put it together? Should be a fun week and a half.

Does Whitmer really have a lot of talent?

I was going to find some way of asking that question but couldn't think of a way to do it without risking wrath from the Whitmer faithful. Fair question.

Apparently the Toledo coaches don't believe so when the 3rd team in the city has 1 player in the top 16,oh and that's on second team.
Why would there be a wrath from the Whitmer faithful!
And yes I believe there is talent on the Whitmer team.

Is the official all-City team out? Can someone provide it for us?

Whitmer = Biggest team across the board in the city. Solid bench. Big strong post players. Good wings with a solid shooter or two. Sounds talented to me.

Something does not add up then if they have all that and the coaches in the city league only voted for one player(if that is true).

I heard that Kenny Hayes from Whitmer isn't playing tonight vs. Rogers--can anyone verify or refute this?

Kenny sat out the TCL semifinal game as I understood it in hopes of getting ready for the post-season. Maybe he just hasn't healed well enough yet -- was it a hamstring? Someone can probably fill us in.

Can't someone report the results? Hasn't been published in the paper as far as I know, but usually word gets out.

What happened in the 4th? Didn't go to the game but I see the Panthers lost by 81-78.

Up 16 and gave up 38 points in the 4th. How do you give up 38 in the 4th?

Just watched the Rogers game on BCSN, can't believe the Whitmer fan base will take this loss very well.
Congrats to Rogers...
