In an effort to keep us all accountable I wanted to set up some hard and fast rules for us for implementing the new rules. Pay attention to them. If you break them once you'll get a warning. The second time you will lose your mod privileges for a week. The third time you will lose them indefinitely. (I'm a hard ass, aren't I? :))

If someone breaks a rule -
1. Make sure the rule is clearly broken first. If it's a tossup or you think you need a second opinion on whether it crosses the line just let it slide.

Examples of a clearly broken rule:
a. Poster A calls Poster B a fag or uses a racial slur
b. Poster B presents a point in an intelligent, respectable manner and Poster A replies with something like "you're a fucktard"
c. Poster A posts a picture of some tits and ass or a dangle
d. Poster A reveals Poster B's real name and/or any other personal information (email address, home address, phone number, etc).

2. If the rule is deemed to be broken send the poster a warning through PM (BCC me) and edit (DO NOT DELETE:exclamation:) their post and include the reason for the edit and your username (i.e. "Edited for unwarranted personal attack - justincredible"). If the post is bad enough that it might warrant a ban use the "unapprove post" option to hide it from everyone but moderators.

3. If they break the rule again edit the post again in the same manner and send me a PM with what they posted in each instance and I will review it and give a Yeah or Nay on the ban.

4. A ban can be given out without my consent ONLY in the following instances:
a. repeated posting of nudity after being warned once.
b. revealing identity again after being warned once.
c. banned poster creates an alter ego to start shit

This doesn't apply to the poli board.

The one way I can keep this place from ever turning in to JJHuddle part deux is to keep control of you guys and hold you all accountable.

What about insta-banning AE's of banned people? I'm guilty of that.

and yes, I can't sleep and am really bored

Overall, this is good (even if my perpetually-buzzed ass will be up shit creek without a paddle when it comes to remembering all this). But considering part of the protocol is PMing offending posters, what do we do in the case of posters like Mtrulz (who has been big on calling people fags) who have some of us (at least me, Wes and GoChiefs) on his ignore list? If I see him breaking a rule, I can't contact him...so should I just PM you in this case, or can you make it so users can't "ignore" mods?

I will promise, for all to see, I will never again abuse my powers to fuck with the little dipshit (or any other little dipshits who try "ignoring" me) if you do!

On the not deleting posts thing..in the HS football forum...i try to keep all the topics on the topic at hand...there is mornings I'll get up..and two posters have gone through and went on a 2 pages pissing match back and forth..and got off the topic at hand...when that happens..I have just been deleting the crap and getting rid of it so it's not on there. Everyone that posts there is pretty much aware of that I'd say. So..do I have to let those posts go and just go through all the posts and edit them?

I'll look and see if there is a way to keep him from ignoring mods.

In that case use the checkbox in the top right corner of the post (next to post #) and then at the bottom of the page use the inline moderation dropdown and "unapprove posts". That way we can still see them but no one else can.
