These rankings with one broad brush of "most conservative" are so strange to me. I still can't get somebody to tell me what it really means to be "conservative". You've got all different kinds of factions and beliefs. For instance, I bet Ron Paul isn't the most conservative because of his foreign policy stances but you'll hear a lot of folks say that what Ron Paul advocates is "real conservativism".

These kinds of things are absolutely worthless and just fodder for worthless political campaign ads and contrary to real policy knowledge.

I was actually surprised that Pelosi and Reid weren't in their respective top 10 given the agenda they are leading. Interesting that Ron Paul isn't there either, but as the article says, his foreign affairs voting record knocked him down.

They're all in the rankings, just click on the article link in the op. There are also other links from there that break it down.

Yeah I agree with the poster above, what is the "standard" for how conservative one is? Is it the neocon way that has become the norm in the pub party or true conservatives that follow the older way?

I don't know what votes were considered conservative vs. liberal, but I'd rather see a ranking measuring More Government vs. Less Government.

Tim Ryan more liberal than Dennis Kucinich? That's debatable.

They don't have LaTourette far enough to the right either.
