I’m looking to buy a used Truck w/ Crew Cad…2007-2009 Looking for low mileage and still factory warranty.
I’m going used because I use this as a personal vehicle putting on lots of mileage and a business vehicle which I’m pretty hard on driving.
Plus I just don’t want to spend the money for something I will drive into the ground. I drive until the wheels fall off my last one ….210,000 mile God I love that Van
So here my question: 2WD Pos-traction vs 4WD 4x4
2000-3000 cheaper vs 2000-3000 more
Other that price: Give me pros and cons of both 2WD and 4WD
Oh! Any suggest of Make or Model?

I was asking for opinions of the differences (pro or con) of a 2WD vs 4WD Truck.

I have a 2WD '05 Tacoma Prerunner...my buddy has the same truck only the 4x4 and non crew cab. I get better miles per gallon and only wish I had 4x4 about 10 days a year(I live in town currently though, if I were to live in the country I would rather have 4x4)

If I were buying a truck in Ohio, I would only consider 4x4. You only need it during winter, but when you need it you really need it.

I had a 4x4 GMC for 5 years and used the 4 wheel on it maybe 3 times. I bought a Dodge Ram 2WD 3 years ago and love it. I live in NE Ohio and still have no reason for the 4x4. No reason to spend the extra money if you don’t have to. It all depends on what roads you travel.

I guess it depends on where you live, there is no way you can get around in the winter without a 4x4 in my neck of the woods. Even if I don't use it I have the satisfaction knowing that if I need it I've got it.

I agree red. It was nice knowing that I had it.
You will get better gas milage with a 2WD however.

Pretty sure you can drive without a 4x4 in the winter, some people are just aren't good enough drivers to do it. The police do it all the time. If you aren't doing any off roading or heavy hauling off road you don't need it if you have pos-traction. As long as you are willing to put some weight in the bed and drive a little more careful in the winter.

And if it doesn't have 4x4 and duct tape on the side ..... it's not a truck

IMO..no use in buying a truck if you want a 2WD. Plus..if you're worried about gas mileage..don't buy a truck either.
