Anyone hear who the new coach is? I heard it was the guy from Reynoldsburg? 4-16 the last two years say it isn't so!

I've been wondering this myself. This actually wouldn't be bad. If it is him that would be AC Grad Steve Evans.

Well I heard that he was the new coach, then I heard he turned it down. I can't believe that! Who wouldn't want out of Reynoldsburg?

Well Amanda is up for a levy and if it doesn't pass many changes could be made including pay to play. Also, not for sure if he could secure a job within Amanda before the levy even if it does pass. I just don't know if they have any openings right now or what he even teaches. As an alum who was a freshman when Steve was a Senior I would love to see him get the job.

I played in HS with Steve (different grade) and think he would be the best hire AC could make right now. He has had some success at other schools (HT, TV) before Reynoldsburg and, though he has moved around a lot, I think he would stick at AC since he is an alum and his kids go there (at least they did when I last heard). As mentioned above, the levy has to be a concern however, as I think that is the situation (high pay to play) he already is in at Reynoldsburg. BTW, I think Steve teaches math.

After talking with a coaching friend I now understand the problems Amanda is having. Not that I am by any means a fan of this team but I do have a great amount of respect for them and hope all things work out for them.

I wish to God that Evans would have taken that job - it would be the best thing to happen to Reynoldsburg in a long, long time! The kids can't stand him and don't respect him and the parents want him gone. He insists on running an offense that is completely unsuited to his talent pool. You have to adapt your style to the kinds of players you have (quick and speedy) and not run an offense for the kinds of players you wish you had (big cornfed farm boys). He has run off six players (5 skill/1 lineman) and counting and the stands are practically empty on Friday nights. How many kids do we have to lose before the administration gets rid of him?

Looks like Amanda-Clearcreek has found their guy. Can't say I know much about him because he came into the program after I graduated. However, he was the D coordinator last year and their D was stout. Good luck to coach Olney
Oh man...Pay to play...I hate to see it but I think more and more school districts might be imposing this. Something needs to be done at the state levels to help school districts instead of continuelly cutting funds to schools. This is a very scary cycle we are seeing.
