So this girl I used to date posts a facebook status one day that says

"After 3 years of trying I finally got into med school!!"
The first comment on it was
"CONGRATS. Which one?"
Her response
"St George's in Grenada"

I wish facebook had smilies cause I would have posted :s :shy:

A friend of mine is a dentist (he went to dental school at OSU). I guess the competition is pretty great as there are many less slots across the country than for med school. Dental residencies are also very limited.

That being said, my dentist friend has a much easier time than the guys I know who are MD's. He works about half the hours, pays much less in medical malpractice premiums, gets better reimbursement from insurers (there are less to deal with btw), and really only deals with a limited number of dental issues. Anything beyond a cleaning or simple filling gets referred to a specialist. His paycheck is much less, of course, but likely pays off when you consider all the crap MD's have to put up with.
