Extremely sharp. I gained weight, muscle, strength and speed in 4 1/2 weeks. I took my 225-pound bench press from four reps to over 10. I dropped my time in the 40 down one tenth a second and my vertical jump increased from 34 to 38 inches.

I really want to be a Bengal. I really want to stay in Cincinnati.

Its hard to believe he could improve that much in 4 1/2 weeks after 5 years of college training.

Mardy "Where's The Pardy?" Gilyard - second coming of Chris Henry.

So he is going to chase his girlfriend out of the house, jump in the bed of the truck and eventually die.

Hopefully he goes more of the TJ route, not the Chris route.

Mardy just never really appealed to me. He has an incredible story though, anyone has to admit that. I hope he does well for himself.

Where are you drawing this comparison to Henry? Please reference something for me...

The only thing Mardy and Chris Henry have in common is that they are both African-American guys who played wide receiver, played college football in the Big East and played in the city of Cincinnati for different teams. They are nothing alike on or off the field. Chris Henry was tall and lanky and would catch the ball down field, whereas Gilyard is a shiftier type of athlete who makes people miss in space. Gilyard also is a special teams dynamo. He often carried the team on his back (see the Pitt game this season) and was a leader in the clubhouse. Gilyard is the guy who having academic issue was kicked off the UC squad. He lived in his car and with friend's for a year while he worked 2-3 jobs working to earn his spot back. Gilyard earned his degree. Gilyard is also known as the guy who ran into the little kid on the sideline in 2008 and hugged the kid when he began crying. The Erin Andrews interview afterwards is one of the most rememered sideline interviews of the whole season for any team.

Henry was a liability to both his WVU squad and to the Bengals. Henry was often flagged in college for unsportsmanlike conduct penalities and was ejected in a game his sophomore year. RichRod commented that Henry was an embarrassment to himself and to the program. He bailed on the team after his Sophomore season. I don't think I even have to go into the issues he faced while in the NFL.

What Mardy Gilyard did versus Pitt was simply amazing....Probably the best single game performance in such a huge game that I have ever witnessed. And I have seen alot of great performances...

Very well put, I'd put Maurice Clarrett's National Championship game performance up pretty high too... mostly because he was a TRUE freshman when he did it.

Never jumped on the Cinci bandwagon but DAMN he impressed me whenever I watched. Watching him shout at his team after he brought them back from the brink against Pitt with this KO return TD was simply awesome.

He has character. I'm sure if/when he is wealthy from pro ball he will give back to the community in Bunnell. He was not a high school superstar around here. He is self made from hard work and perseverance.
USA Soccer player Eddie Johnson is also from Bunnell.

I would like to challenge him for the most anti-UC fan on here if I could. Could you guys just give me the title?
