Indian Creek returns all five starters from a team that finished the regular season with no losses.
Two time OVAC Champs.
Can't wait to see them get it going again this year.

They have a couple subs that played a lot of minutes last season. The subs are not yet the complete players like the starters, but a couple of them could possibly be starters on some other teams. They will be able to give the starters some rest during the games. The coaches are experimenting to find what combinations will work well together.
I am more concerned about the height issue. They seem to be more vulnerable to teams that are taller than they are.

Quickness beats size 85% of the time. Don't they have a big post player.

First girl of the bench would start for anyone else in the OVAC.

for those who are worried about the bench. Do not worry, there is plenty of talent there to give the starters a little rest and they are gaining valuable experience and growing into good basketball players. The talent pool will not be empty after this extraordinary class graduates either. One starter will be back the following year, and this year's subs are getting valuable experience and should be ready to move into the starting lineup next year. There is also something coming from the junior high that coaches can not teach, height.

Watched IC scrimmage last night against Meadowbrook and Waterford. Creek had the same problem last night that they had last year in the Sectional Final: A lack of height killed them. K. Jirles (6') and S. Stover (5' 10") for Meadowbrook dominated the boards, and C. Neff (5'7"ish), last years PG for Meadowbrook, now a wing, got her share as well.

IC is quick, but when they run into a team with height and quickness, like both Meadowbrook and Waterford last night, I think IC will struggle.

Having said that, IC is very scrappy, and hustles all the time. Best of luck to them throughout the year. I would like to see the Colts match up with them again in the Sectional.

I agree equus, Creek also did not appear to be nearly as agressive as they need to be. I watched girls hang their heads and jog down the floor behind the play after they turned the ball over. That is not the type of play we have grown accustomed to from these ladies. A couple of them stood flat footed watching the other team go after the ball when shots were missed and they did not follow their shots. I hope they get more motivated before the games start counting. I don't mean to be critical, but this is not the type of effort we have seen for the last 3 seasons.

Good final tune up for both teams. I enjoyed their meeting last season, but do not expect the intensity to be the same for a scrimmage.

Just hoping both teams come out of this scrimmage healthy.

Size matters. When a 5'7 girl gets tired she's in trouble. When a 6'0 girl gets tired she's still 6'0.
tired is useless 6'0 or 5'7

Oh look its a thread lots of people are posin quick Kathy, drop an ohhuddle.com probe and maybe they'll come to your site!

As for Indian Creek, I thought when I saw them that in some ways they were rather unfundamental (some, not all before you get angry) but the amount of hustle they showed along with the fact that they had obviously been playing together for some time more than made up for against some quality opponents

Creek opened the season with a victory over Union Local. They seemed lethargic much of the night. They fouled much more than they should have, because they did not hustle with their feet. They were out of position and reaching. They threw the ball at the basket much of the night instead of shooting, many very poor shots were taken and some of them seemed to have little interest in going after loose balls or following shots. This was a below par performance from this group. I know they will play better and I hope it is Thursday.

Indian Creek (2-0) defeated Harrison Central tonight 54-33.

Harrison jumped out to an early lead 13-6 after the first period. Creek took the lead by 3 on a last second shot before the half, 20-17. Creek took over in the third quarter and cleared the bench in the fourth. Megan Billick played one of the best games I have seen her play. I do not have the stats, but she did well in all aspects of the game. Deflecting passes, making steals, blocking shots, rebounding and scoring. This was however a team effort that overcame numerous turnovers and mistakes. They still have wrinkles to iron out, but they did play better tonight than during their first game, at least for one quarter.

Megan Billick ended with 15 points if I am not mistaken.
