That was really bad officiating. Not saying he didn't deserve it, because he did. But Jay Bilas is right, you don't sit there and take the berating and then walk away and T someone up. BAD officiating.

It was kind of pointless towards the end of the game. He should have got ejected long before that. Huggins ejection was actually more enjoyable to watch than WVU though.
The refs were just awful all night long though. Neither team could breathe on someone without a foul.

This seems to happen in Big East games a lot lately. It happens in almost every Louisville and Connecticut game, and I try to watch both of those schools all the time.eersandbeers wrote:The refs were just awful all night long though. Neither team could breathe on someone without a foul.

Yeah I don't know if they are trying to crack down on the physical play or are just really bad this year. The BE is known as a physical conference and it has done a complete 180 this year. Almost becoming as bad as the ACC.

I'm starting to have serious doubts about whether WVU survives the first weekend of the NCAAs. I haven't seen a complete 40 minute performance from them all season.

I'd be shocked if WVU makes it past the first round. This team can't shoot, play defense, pass, or run anything that resembles an offensive set. The offense is dribble it around for 30 seconds then pass to Butler for an off balance three.

Huggins has always had a shorter rope with the officials than many other coaches. I remember when he was at UC he was always good for a few ejections a year. Most of the time he got ejected over something pretty trivial. My favorite was a game in his last season or so when he got ejected, then UC radio play by play man (and former Huggs assistant) Chuck Mashock got ejected for cussing out the refs.

He definitely deserved it tonight as he dropped a M F'er on the ref, but the ref totally went the wrong way about doing it.

I am going to pencil WVU into my sweet sixteen because they play so ragged. They rebound the lights out and have guards who can create for themselves. In a 3 v 13 or 4 v 11 matchup you would be hard pressed to find a mid major who could efficiently convert on their defense. If WVU loses it will be a 54-50 type game.

This is actually WVU's biggest weakness. We have no true point guard, and nobody can create a shot from the perimeter.

From the perimeter yes, but driving the lane and getting to the line they can do.
Whether they make the freebies is another story.
