Looking at the brackets, it should be a good tournament. Any predictions?

I see in the Baums page pairings that Dye from PH was at 171, which suprised me. I thought he would have gone 160.

Someone on another site said that Goebel is going to lose to Mansfield of Ayersville at 112 lbs. Who has Mansfield wrestled that would compare to Goebel? Goebel is something like 90-1 in the last two years, losing this year at Medina to the eventual champion, whom he beat last season. I'm sure it's possible to keep it close based on Goebel's style, but I'm not certain he can beat him

stockmaster will have a tough first round match. if he gets past that, he will have that tantari kid from lake. if he gets past him, he will probably have baker in the semi's. i dont see him beating all three based on what ive seen and his schedule. i think he gets upset here at districts. he can still get out though.
another upset i think could be johnson from swanton at 215 over wells
laney at 125 had a really tough match first round sectionals 7-6 win over someone (i cant remember who) i dont know if he was not felling well, but he might be one not to make it to finals.
Jimeniz from Montpieler has a very very tough 2nd round match against, 1 PL-1 Anthony Ferber(South C)Sr 44-3..which might mean no rematch with elling from liberty center?
the last one thats not a given is the stiebler brothers. ok just kidding. the rest look pretty good.

Very possible, Wells beat Johnson 8-1 a couple weeks ago. Krall from LC is someone to watch at 215, he had a good chance to win 189 and bumped up and took 2nd. He had Wells beat last week with about 30 seconds left and got tossed.

Laney beat #5 seed Keefer of Liberty Center in Laney's first match of an 8 man bracket in the semis. Keefer is a scrapper - engine rarely quits - similar to Laney, but I think LC wrestles a little tougher schedule. I don't think Laney was prepared for someone like Keefer. He may be wiser next time.

Just glancing through the school delays I already saw about 10-15 participating schools closed today, will this affect the tournament?

at Heavyweight i'll take Endicott...
he has looked unbelievable when i've seen him this year...including a pin over Jordan Marrero from Reynoldsberg in the finals at Marion Elgin...

Ferber really handled Jimenez of Mont in the second round. I’m not sure Elling beats Ferber the way he looked tonight. Elling though looked awfully tough too.
Speaking of LC, a near shocker was Baldwin of LC at 171 and Dye from PH who was heavily favored. Baldwin cradled him in the 2nd and nearly pulled it off. I’ve seen quicker calls, I can tell you that. In the end (and all that matters) Dye wins.

Interesting how these things happen. It could be a number of things (how they match up, overconfidence, "rookie" mistakes, etc.). Districts is a different animal.
