Who out there has seen Newark Catholic play? Their scores look like they have dominated a lot of teams, particularly in their league. Give some scoop.
Are they legit, or overrated?

I am not familiar with them, but I am pretty sure that last year they lost in the regionals to the eventual state champion.

They play very well as a team and do not have one superstar although they do have a few very nice players. When I saw them my only concern would be against a taller team although their center has the body of a middle linebacker and great hands.

They do a great job of playing to their strengths, which are mostly experience (pretty sure all 5 starters have either started or played considerable time since their sophmore year), and great team basketball. As someone above mentioned, they don't have one true "superstar" player, but they are one of those teams that if one or two aspects of what they are trying to do are getting shut down, they can do something else to get points or get stops on defense. They have decent height for a small school team, and they play good defense. As someone mentioned above, they made it to the regional finals I believe last year, and lost to eventual state champion/runner up (Harvest Prep maybe?).

bexley lions with the upset, maybe will work in NC's advantage, keeping them grounded for the tourney

I don't think this was an upset, we considered it a toss up. Bexley is a very good team from a larger division. Definately a good tourney tune up. Good luck NC!
