Not really any notable fights this weekend. No big names in action anywhere.
FNF looks more like a showcase than anything really competitive to me.
Akron native Shawn Porter(12-0) vs Russell Jordan(15-6) is the headliner on espn this week.
Jordan has been stopped 5 times in his six losses.
I expect Porter to be collecting a Ring magazine belt along with a host of alphabet belts in the future. Jordan will not.
The rest of the lineup doesn't look any better imo:

FSN has a little better line up tomorrow.
Giavonni Segurea(22-1-1) vs Walter Tello(14-3) for a junior flyweight title belt is headliner.
Pretty weak after that though.
Omar Chavez, another son of Julio Cesar Chavez is on the undercard.
I thought he had more potential than his brother but he hasn't fought much since one of his opponents collapsed after the fight and passed on a few days later.

Much better show on FNF than I expected tonight.
Toledo's Martin Tucker made rising prospect Lanard Lane eat a lot of punches and work hard for his "W" tonight. Lot's of action for the whole 8 rounds, too bad Tucker couldn't pull off the upset, Lane was just too good for him.
Russel Jordan wobbled Porter once, hit him a lot and made him work for his win too. Good fight, Porter won but showed some chinks in his armor. Backing straight out after a flurry will get him dropped by a better boxer than Jordan someday...
Porter reminds me of Shane Mosley................who still bounces on his toes sometimes.
Looked like a good crowd showed up at the Wolstein Center to support Porter.
