Any fans? New one releases on 4/30. Just a remake of the original..minus Robert Englund.

A good movie back in the day.

Will be interesting to see if they can make it relevant.

How could they not get Robert England? The guy has done like 4 other movies in his career. That's like not having Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones!

Anyway...I'll probably wait until it comes out on DVD, but I'll watch it.

"Disheartening news for the fans, maybe, but rumor has it Michael Bay’s Platinum Dunes is taking “Nightmare” back to square one…as in fresh start, hitting the reset button, making it their own (think “Texas Chainsaw Massacre” ‘03 and Friday the 13th ‘09). Because of this decision, they’d like to find another actor to carry the new Krueger into future films."

Plus..Englund has said he probably wouldn't have done it had they asked him..just b/c of the age factor. Said he's getting up there and they would require too much stunt doubling b/c after one take..he's too sore.

The "Chaninsaw" remake in 2003 was awesome..and this is being done by the same crew...so I'm sure it will be great too.

I will for sure see this. Growing up on these classic horror films hopefully this isn't a disappointment.

The first movie in the series was defintely the scariest and best of bunch by far. The rest sort of became a characture of the orignial. Hope it does not dissapoint.

I hate remakes of all the old scary movies. All are disapointing. The voice of the "new" freddy sounds stupid. Nothing remade can be a good duplicate of the original. I would rather pop in the 80's flicks of Freddy, Jason, M Myers then watch these fakes. The new Texas Chainsaw was stupid, Halloween was stupid, I didnt even bother watching the Jason one. But, Freddy is my favorite.........so I will rent it, i guess. Hopefully it isnt as stupid as Freddy vs. Jason

I think Michael Bay did a great job with his Texas Chainsaw remake with Jessica Biel and R Lee Ermey. I thought Zombie's Halloween 1 was good but haven't seen 2 though I know everyone said it sucks, I will still catch it at some point because I am a Zombie music/movie fan. I haven't seen the new Friday the 13th either but will catch it at some point as well.

I too, enjoyed Bay's version of Chainsaw. Still haven't seen either of Zombie's Halloweens..but I heard the first was great..second one..not so much...the new Friday was ok..but it gave away some of the 'secrets' and kind of ruins the 'mystique' of Jason, IMO.

Remakes like Chainsaw and Dawn of the Dead were excellent, so I am holding out hope. I have however lost faith in Rob Zombie doing remakes...lol

-Zombie's Halloween 1 was good. 2 was ok but definitely not as good as the first.

-The new Friday the 13th was good. I thought it was pretty typical of the originals. Nudity, drugs, and a lot of killing.

-I liked the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre's also.

I think Nightmare on Elm Street will be good. Jackie Earle Haley is the man.
