A game the US should win but nothing is for granted. Have to get all the points possible before facing the big boys.

Ah, I thought it was noon Eastern. So it should be on NBC then.....

Anyone know who the big dogs are on the Swiss team???

We've got Norway thurs. then we've got Canada on Sunday. Hopefully we can get familiar tomorrow, get a couple wins this week, and get some steam going into Sunday....

I don't think any of the hockey is on NBC until the men's quarterfinals

the entire women's side of it plus all of the preliminaries for the men are on USA/MSNBC/CNBC (even the prime time US vs Canada game on 2/21)

Swiss team surprised in Torino, the U.S. can't sleepwalk through this one. I'll be following updates all day at my computer, although I REALLY can't wait for Sunday night's game.

Teams with NHL'ers will need to come together quickly and a team like Switz and others with players who are with their teams may be able to knock off one of the big boys very early on.

Hiller can keep the Swiss in the game if he's on, lets get an early one in period #2 and put 'em on the ropes.

Question: what is the point of the crease in hockey?

US looks like the team who's had a week's worth of practice.....Lookin' pretty sharp compared to the Swiss.

An opposing player cannot get into the crease BEFORE the puck gets there. It is almost like a safe zone as to where a player cannot be directly in the face of the goalie. He can go in the crease for the puck once it enters it.

Few years ago they had an AWFUL rule that goals were dissallowed if another player on the scoring team was in the crease. There were times a guy may have been on the other side of the goal with a partial skate in and a goal disallowed even if the person in the crease had NOTHING to do with the goal or interferring with the goalie.

They revised it and made it better...although not as absolute.

US playing well but they have taken their foot off the gas in the 3rd. These are teams where they need to keep their skates on their throats and push until there is nothing left. They cannot afford to do this against Canada on Sunday or it will get ugly fast.
