I really believe they could play in a LOW mid major and win a league.

Some of the 16 seeds come tourny time would get beat by this UConn team.

They couldn't beat an average high school team.

Yeah they would. I watch an average high school team(big school D-1) every week and they would destroy them.

This is a little off topic(actually way off topic), but I've had this argument a million times.

As a male, would you be able to play for a female coach? A coach like Pat Summit, not just any old lady(ok that was bad) or even UConn's asst(the blonde)??

They would be lucky to win a single game.

Isn't there a female coach in the NBA D-League?

Yup. Nancy Lieberman in Frisco. But they don't start playing until '10-'11

She tried to play in the NBA celebrity game. She should not do that again.

That appearance in the celebrity game was legendary. One of the top ten funniest movies of the year.

While I don't mind watching women's college hoops (I don't, however), they wouldn't win a game in men's college basketball. I'm sure they could take out a high school boy's team somewhere, but they'd get crushed in D-I men's college ball.

I agree that they would lose to any D1 team maybe compete with D2 or D3. I think they would beat high school teams though.

A poll was posed in the Hartford Courant recently asking if the Uconn women could beat the Uconn men right now, 30% said the women.

Here's Geno's opinion:
That 30 percent [who picked the women] are out of their minds ... If they're serious, they should not be allowed to watch another game of basketball, ever.

lol, they wouldnt even be close in a single game.

And to those 30%....Kemba Walker and Stanley Robinson could beat the 5 women by themselves.

Most Big Schools (D1 in Ohio, 4A or 5A in most other states) would also beat UCONN women. Maybe not run them out of the gym like a college team would. But they would beat them. I played pick with my buddies vs the IU womens team. Granted nowhere near the level of the UCONN, but I also was no where near good enough to go D1. I got to the hole every possession. We won 15-1...it was downright embarrassing. And dont bring up the ball argument. We switched to a mens ball at 8-1.

Uconn's women may be able to win a Division 4 sectional in Ohio, but no more. The gap in athletic ability alone is way too much to overcome. They are probably better skilled than a lot of D3-D4 schools in Ohio, but athletically, it is just not even close.

If you are comparing them to the HS level, they would beat most HS teams. Not the Northlands and the better big schools, but more than 75% of the HS's here in Ohio.

As for college, they would struggle in most D3 leagues. D1 is out of the question, as is D2.

The UConn woman's team could not win in a pick-up game over Mount Unions football team.

LOL beat more than 75% of HS teams. I played for a small D4 school and out of the top 8 players 5 of them could dunk. No way could they keep up athletically. Not a chance!

I think they would struggle to win a game in the mostly lowly of D3 conferences.
