Bowling Green @ Toledo Central Catholic ***********ross ford81 has just informed me that the Bowling Green-Central Game will be put back a week and will be played on Saturday, February 27th instead of this weekend. I will put it on the new schedule and we can re-predict when the time comes. Thanks again to ross-ford81 for the heads-up!!! I have also had ross ford81's information seconded by the BG people as they told me that the game has been rescheduled at Central's request to the following Saturday. (the 27th)

Lots of games, several upsets in the making. It should be quite a finish!

Tuesday:
-Bowsher over Maumee by 10. Panthers could win, but Rebels want it more and are getting better.

Friday:
-Bowling Green over Rossford by 10. Bobcats eyes on a post-season tourney run after being NLL favorite and losing it to Perrysburg.
-Perrysburg over Southview by 8. Another ho-hum NLL win for the Yellow Jackets.
-Springfield over AW by 14. Devils trying to find a way to make a tourney run of their own.
-Maumee over Northview by 6. Not to be redundant, but can the Panthers win a couple of post-season tourney games?

Saturday:
-Defiance over Rossford by 7. Battle of the Bulldogs could go either way, but the western 'Dogs are too big.
-Ottawa Glandorf over AW by 27. Titans just don't show much mercy and the AW guards will hate it.
-Clay over Northview by 3. Does one of these two teams have to win this one?
-Central Catholic over BG by 9. Bobcats have the edge on the court (esp. with Orr and X.Brown of late), but the coaching mismatch is substantial.

Tuesday, February 16th Game:

Toledo Bowsher...Just a little better. It's really a coin flip!

Friday, February 19th Games:

Bowling Green....(** 2 Point Game). It's always tough to play in the Wolfe Field House!!! Leahy will get his points. BG just too deep for the Dogs.
Perrysburg..........Southview isn't as good as earlier. Jackets keep rolling.
Springfield...........AW simply can't win this game.
Maumee.............Northview isn't as good as the Panthers

Saturday, February 20th Games:

Defiance.............Rossford may get this one but the Dogs will face big kids!!
Ottawa Glandorf......Oh My! AW is also very unlucky.
Oregon Clay..........Just good enough to win this one.
Toledo Central Catholic...I'd like to go with the Bobcats here, but they just haven't won many of these City League match-ups. Central, but very close. If this game were in BG, I think I'd go with the Cats, but up there, it would be very tough to get the win and Central is a great team.

Thanks to NLLBEST for the schedule change. The Blade this morning still has Maumee playing at Bowsher tonight. I'm sure that NLLBEST is correct because I know he's pretty well hooked in with the Panthers so we will just play it by ear tonight, but I expect that NLL is right on the money and we will be adding that game to our final week's list. Also I notice that the BG-Central game, which was originally scheduled for February 16th and was, according to my sources rescheduled for the 20th, is not listed on either date so once again, we will just play it by ear. eventually this will work out and barring any more weather conflicts, perhaps we can make it to the end of the NLL Regular Season and call it a year for our contest. It will all work out. (eventually!)

You are right, NLLBEST but I'm too tired to PM anybody else concerning schedule changes and I've decided to put the game back on the schedule for next week and have everyone just submit another prediction at that time. It's the final week and I think we can just total and end the contest next week and I can take a nap.:)

Ha yea thanks swamp fox there was nothing you could do on that one.

Friday, February 19th Games
Bowling Green over Rossford (**2 Point Game) by 12...Clearly the 21nd best team in the conference this year imo.
Perrysburg over Sylvania Southview by 7...Still goin for the undefeated nll season and noww are starting to get state votes.
Springfield over A-W by 19...Springfiled the better team and shows it.
Maumee over Northview by 13...Maumee comes out hot and gets back to back wins? wow!

Saturday, February 20th Games

Rossford over Defiance by 5...I think defiance will be upset early in the tourney this year considering they are ranked#9 in the state.
Anthony Wayne over Ottawa Glandorf by 3...Rottin for the NLL but I dont really know if this is likely.
Sylvania Northview over Oregon Clay by 5...Northview wins this one with hustle plays ad gettin the ball inside.
Bowling Green over Toledo Central Catholic by 4...Really interesting game. Im not really sure what will happen but if bg comes out shooting this could be a good 1.

Congratulations to the Bulldogs. What a gutsy performance. Every time Rossford needed something, they simply put the ball in Leahy's hands and BG could not stop him all night. 26 points and only three field goals.
Leahy was 20-22 from the foul line. Chauncey Orr had 32 for the Cats and Xavier Brown had 21 but a simple mathematical formula would apply here...To wit: Five guys playing as a team beats two guys going one on one. Every single pollster missed the BG-Rossford game so the scores don't really change at all and the Central-BG game , originally scheduled for February 16th and rescheduled for the 20th, has now been moved to next Saturday, February the 27th and apparently has a 1:30 start time for the JV game.

Swamp: If you were at the game, explain how a kid who is a 4-year letterman and is a great shooter scores only 3 points (Dible according to the Blade). Explain how a 3-year letterman and good athlete scores 3 points (Stoner) if he played most of the game. Orr is a great offensive talent, and X. Brown is strong and quick and getting better and handling the ball and shooting it. Do you think this is becoming too much of a 2-man team?

I was at the game, hookshot, and yes, at times I think the Bowling Green team tends to stand around and watch the two offensive stars do their thing. I think that they are both great players but when only one or two people are involved in the offense, something is missing. The Bulldogs were a step quicker to every loose ball and the Bobcats gave too many second chance shots to the Bulldogs last night. BG was also getting beaten badly on the boards and seemed to be a step or two slower there as well. There were a number of times when the Bobcats simply lost the ball out of bounds or were out fought for the ball. BG is having a very nice season, but I think they need to try and involve everyone a little more in the offense if they are going to do anything on the Tournament trail.

I have seen BG play and I find it pathetic that a coach can allow this kind of play. Does he really think this style is effective? BG has four to five guys who can score twenty any night yet they run no offense and give there shooters no decent opportunities. Who is to blame for this? It's simple bad coaching. No wonder BG can never beat pburg.
