Creek won their third consecutive OVAC title by defeating Steubenville 50-32. The Creek jumped out to an 18-2 lead at the end of the first quarter, At the half they led 30-12 and went into cruise control from there.

Big Red is a 1 girl team. You stop West you stop Big Red. Creek played great.

I was pleasantly surprised that Creek got it all together, as they struggled through most of the season. Their fans and coaches discussed every aspect of their games all season long trying to figure out what was wrong. Over the last 3 games there has been steady improvement.

I expect the next meeting to be closer, but I do not know if Big Red can find a solution to the problems they encountered against Creek. One girl very rarely can beat a team. Creek has 5 starters that are all capable of a 20+ point game, but they spread the ball so well that it will seldom happen.

This game meant nothing. It was just another regular season game. The sectional game is the one that matters.

Tell that to the Creek girls, that is why they keep score.

Yes, the sectional game is the one that matters NOW. Last week the focus was on the OVAC game. I do not believe that the big red girls did not care about the OVAC game. Nice try though, if you can't win it, make believe that you did not want it.

The outcome is what it is. I wasn't trying to take anything away from the Redskins. Winning three-straight titles is a very good accomplishment. They should be proud of all that they have accomplished in the last three years.
I'm sure the Big Red girls, the St. Clairsville girls, the Shadyside girls and the Bridgeort girls all wanted to win their games Saturday. I wasn't trying to say they didn't want to win. You always want to win.
Though they lost, their seasons are not over. Now, if they lose, their seasons will be over.
I was just trying to say that there have been a lot of teams who won an OVAC title in a sport, but did not do anything in the postseason. On the other side of the coin, there have been teams who did not win an OVAC title in a sport who went on to have a lot of success in the postseason.
Good luck to all teams in the upcoming postseason.

Creek brings out the brooms. They sweep the big red winning this one 57-50.
