If you don't want your boyfriend/husband to say how his mom made something, then do a little better job of cooking.

Pretty much. She said I can go to my moms for dinner if I like her cooking so much better.

It all started by her not putting any sauce on top of meatloaf. Her meatloaf is got a round piece of meat... there's no sauce on top of it. That's unacceptable.

Try telling her this to calm her down. You wanted a meatloaf, not a 3lb dried up ball of hamburger!!

Naw...I think it's a rule. WTF was her mom thinking by instilling a "No Topping" philosophy in her daughter?

Ketchup, brown sugar, mix it up...put it on top prior to baking, put some on the side for extra topping. Boom, done.

And thats all it was too.. I tried to be nice about it but she pushed the issue.
I ate my 1 piece, then took my plate to sink to rinse off and she says "that's all you're having?" I said ya. She says "you didn't like it?". I said its fine, I'm used to having some sauce on top of it though. ...and it just went bad from there.

First of all, any meat meal can be salvaged simply by drowning it in mustard. Secondly, Zwick, is it worth losing one piece of meat over another?

The fact that I can count on about two fingers the number of things that I remember my mom cooking well gives you an idea how good of a cook she was. She put the ketchup on the meat loaf, but she pretty much burned it.

I've seen the great meatloaf controversy.

Mom- Ground beef, Wheaties, celery, cold with mustard.
Wife- Ground beef & sausage, bread crumbs, hot with BBQ sauce.
