So I talked farmer into splurging for a 50 inch plasma TV. It's coming on Thursday and our current entertainment center will do for now.

However, I want to get a nice big oak one with shelves and what not on the sides, BUT, I don't want to spend an arm and a leg.

Any suggestions? Craigs list is a flop and its exhausting.

Solid oak entertainment are not cheap, I don't care where you go. Your best bet is to find a store that's going out of business, and try making a deal.

Ashley Furniture can have some pretty good deals. I'd prefer a black entertainment Center, however.

Go to your local amish woodworker and get it done custom and right the first time.

I got all my bedroom furniture from Overstock for a steal. You have to put everything together as it's all flat pack, but it's high quality stuff.
