Seems like Vancouver is tricky to these athletes. That skier got pretty messed up the other day too.

Why? How many deaths are there usually per winter games?

I can only find two deaths in 1964, one was a luger, the other a downhill skier.

The conditions of the snow aren't good which makes it extra dangerous for the skiers especially the downhillers and we all saw what happened to the luger earlier. From what I gather the snow being trucked in is bascially a sheet of ice. If that luge course isn't somehow revamped or something I can see serious injury and even another death occuring on that track. I hope I am wrong though.
