Crazy stat. Danny Ferry was the only one to win one.

So basically if you want to win a NBA championship don't play for coach K :D

If anything it says more about his ability to win in college without great future NBA players

Were they tall? Maybe he could have had his own NBA team and won a championship?

K's job isnt to win NBA chanpionships. He coaches in the NCAA. If you knew anything about recruiting you would know that the average NBA player cant get into Duke. Also K hasnt recruited the 1 and done type college players, he wants players that will stay 4 years of college.

What you should look at is the fact of how many players K puts in the league.
That post is just great, lol.

It was fine until your last line...which in itself just solidifies the OP "point". Its amazing all the players who arent stars in the league havent been on a championship team.

How in the hell do I solidify the OP? I believe that I owned his ass by my last post.
Because they have the second most players in the NBA yet only have 1 NBA championship.

I'm pretty sure Carolina has 14 players currently in the NBA. I'm thinking that list isn't very accurate.

Tyler Hansbrough - Indiana Pacers
Ty Lawson - Denver Nuggets
Wayne Ellington - Minnesota Timberwolves
Danny Green - Cleveland Cavaliers
Brandan Wright - Golden State Warriors
Marvin Williams - Atlanta Hawks
Sean May - Sacramento Kings
Raymond Felton - Charlotte Bobcats
Jawad Williams - Cleveland Cavaliers
Brendan Haywood - Washington Wizards
Antawn Jamison - Washington Wizards
Vince Carter - Orlando Magic
Rasheed Wallace - Boston Celtics
Jerry Stackhouse - Milwaukee Bucks

I'd love to see the numbers for the rest of the teams. I bet no one has those. How convenient.

Either way, this thread is f******* pointless.

Why is this thread so pointless? You don't find it particularly odd that a great college coach running a great college program has had ONE player in his decades of coaching win an NBA Title?

The point is simple. How can he control what happens to the players and their success in the NBA?

He can't control what team or situation his kids are put in.
He can't stop chronic injuries
He can't stop motorcycle and car accidents
He can't stop moronic trades
He can't stop poor signings
He can't do anything to influence the NBA

While the OP purpose of this thread was probably to take a jab at Coach K, I still do find it odd that only 1 players has a championship that attended Duke.

It reminds me of Coach Knight, who I think also only has 1 player (Isaiah Thomas) with a championship. Although I dont really know the history of the NBA team for all the time Knight was coaching in the 70s and 80s.
