I have all this time to post and this board is just boring. The SB is over...you can't argue over Kobe or LeBron......it's just yawning.
Bring on MLB baseball!
Here are some useless predictions:
Arod will hit 57 HR
Pujols will hit 51 HR
The Braves will win the National League
No one will win 20 games.....5 guys will have 19
The Nationals will win 75 games
The Reds will win 84 games
Shane Victorino will have the best year of all the Phillies.

Also, NBA > MLB
IMO, of course.
Though I do love me some summer baseball.

No one will hit 50 HR this season. The Indians will lose 102 games.

Arod will hit 46. Pujols will break 50 - 60 if McGwire shares some juice with him.Ironman92 wrote: I have all this time to post and this board is just boring. The SB is over...you can't argue over Kobe or LeBron......it's just yawning.

The Phillies will run away with the East, but the Braves will be the WC.
Halladay wins 22 and the Cy Young.
The Nationals will be irrelevant as usual, but will make headlines when they announce Starsburg as the opening day starter. He finished the year 5-17 with a 7.86 ERA.
The Reds will play .425 ball through the break and will fire Baker. As interim, Billy Hatcher will right the ship and the team finishes 82-82, two games out of first, 10 out of the WC.
Victorino has a career year, but Pujols wins the MVP...again.

uh...college basketball is fine and the tourney is awesome....but any player worth much leaves after 1 season and many of the big names in college that are jr or more will not be ever heard of again.
And there is a college bball forum......which isn't doing much for me either

Being a life-long Tiger fan, I have discovered that I only need baseball about every quarter century. The rest of the time it just frustrates me. At least I'm not a Cubs fan.

Hey, MLB gets a new stadium this year and the possibility of some cold-ass playoff games:

How many is this supposed to seat? It looks just as small if not smaller than PNC park. Looks pretty sweet though, definitely one I'd like to get to.
Some Tribe predictions:
Grady Sizemore is healthy, hits in the 3 hole and puts up:
.280/32 HR/100 RBI/30SB
Asdrubal Cabrera solidifies himself as one of the top 10 SS in MLB.
Choo comes back to Earth ala Jody Gerut.
Laporta emerges as a quality middle of the order hitter by years end.
Tribe pitching staff may set some records this year, but not in a good way.

I REALLY wish I could be excited about baseball. I am usually pumped this time of year. I love March Basketball, from conference tourneys to the NCAA tourney followed by the start of Summer/baseball.
But the Tribe has KILLED my anticipation. I just dont have any hope for them. First time I have had no hope to start a year since 2002 (I think that was the year). I hope Im wrong, but I doubt it.
I will be big into fantasy baseball though, more than usual. It will help me get involved in it over the summer since my team likely wont be worth following past May.

March Madness used to be my fav time of the year....but after RMK was fired at IU my interest in basketball plummeted. It wasnt something I anticipated but it happened. Each year I got less and less interested..to the point I havent even filled out a bracket the last couple of seasons.
Kinda sad really...just cannot wait till baseball starts.

I agree. I usually can get myself talked into the Tribe having a chance to win the 85-90 games it takes to win the AL Central, but with as dismal as this pitching staff looks, I can't do it. The offense will be OK, but the starting rotation appears to be awful. The bullpen has potential, but with as many innings as they will need to throw will fall apart.

Look at it this way Indians fans, at least we don't have a Cy Young winner to trade this year....But maybe we'll trade Sizemore for a couple A prospects just to piss off the fans some more.

God I feel your pain as a Tigers fan as well. I also root for the Cubs too, but the Tigers are my team. I don't want to hear it from you Tribe fans. At least you have had good players. The Reds have slightly above average players that they overvalue greatly. Try not having a winning season in nine years and no playoffs in 14, then get back to me.

what pisses me off about the Tribe this year, is that with a modicum of good pitching, and a bit of luck, this lineup has a shot at contending. But no, we had to trade Lee early with a year left on his contract....and got nothing for him that we couldn't have gotten trading him this July. Pure salary dump...and with it, any chance at contention.

Twins ballpark looks like it will be nice, and you're right, April amd May could have some REALLY chilly regular season games and their could be some cold playoff games up there as well.
Marlins and Rays have new stadiums coming along as well here in the next 3 to 4 years.
For all of you Ohio people if the Reds can get the pitching to work out I think they have a chance to be halfway decent and hang around for a while. With the Cuban guy plus Cueto(when the change is on) and if Volquez is healthy they have 3 of the best young pitchers in the game in my opinion, provided Dusty doesn't shred their arms to death. Plus if they can get Harang some run support and if Bronson will put down his guitar and get his head out of his ass they could do some things.
Seattle should be an interesting team to watch this year, with the acquisition of Figgins and Cliff Lee as well as the resigning of King Felix, they have a chance to unseat Anaheim in the West, especially with the loss of Vlad and John Lackey(I'm sorry but Matsui just doesn't make up for the offense they lost and he's running of out healthy years left in the league).
As for my Yanks, a bit of a retooled roster without Johnny Damon, the Granderson pick up was nice and it'll be an interesting 3 way battle in left field between Randy Winn, Marcus Thames(signed just this week) and Bret Gardner. Also loving the fact that Nick Johnson is back in pinstripes, tore me up the day he left for Montreal and I'm happy he's back in the Bronx. Top four spots in the rotation should be pretty much solidified(I hope Vasquez pitches well for us). 5th starter battle should be the top thing to watch at Legends Field in Tampa. Joba Chamberlain finally has the kid gloves off and will be competing with Phil Hughes, Alfredo Aceves, and Chad Gaudin should be in the mix to win the job as well. Joe Girardi, Derek Jeter, and Mariano Rivera are also all in the final year of contracts which will not be dicussed until after the season is over, so how the Yanks do could determine contact negotiations for 2011.
Should be an interesting year in MLB. Some key players are already in Tampa for the Yanks and pitchers and catchers officially report in less than 6 days!
