You know...I really don't Cleveland's that bad either. Sure the wind whipping off the lake into my face doesn't feel like a massage or anything but it could be worse IMO.

The worst thing about Cleveland, and Ohio in general is the lack of sun. In Minneapolis it may be really cold, but the sun is usually out.

The artcile does not state the city with the most snow; it is the city with the worst winter weather. Temperature, sunshine and wind is a factor they considered. As others have pointed out, it is very gray here for several months.

Ohio in general has like 125 days of sunshine a year. A city like San Diego has over 250 a year.
Now I dont know what that entails in terms of clouds in the summer time. But regardless, its no wonder the midwest sucks for weather.

Cleveland sucks in the winter, but we are used to it, so it doesn't seem so bad.

Worst part of Cleveland's winter is March and April.
You see the Weather Channel map of temps, and see it's 70 in Cincinnati, 62 in Columbus...and 43 in Cleveland. Does it those entire two months.
And I do disagree with Columbus as #8. Those winters were pretty tepid compared to Cleveland when I lived there.

I do agree that the amount of overcast and grey days in Columbus during the winter definitely contributes to it being rather shitty for those months.

Check out Denver. They wear out sunglasses in that City. I once read it was approximately 300!

Last year my gf's parents' came to Columbus for an event and got home on April 7th to 7" of fresh snow on the ground. It was in the 60's here.

Driving to Buffalo on 90, it's always shut down in Dunkirk in the winter, which is between Erie and Buffalo.

I know. I have friends from upstate New York who say that the snow sometimes doesn't melt until mid-May or later.

I think city size and population fits into the equation here. I too agree places like Buffalo, Erie, Fargo ND, etc are much worse.
