The brackets for the 32 teams came out this afternoon. The first round games this board is probably most interested in:
Washington & Jefferson @ Mount Union
Mt St Joseph @ Wittenberg
Trine @ Case Western Reserve
The winners of the 2nd and 3rd games above will play each other in the second round. Mount Union is on the opposite half of the field and would not meet any of these teams until the Stagg Bowl.
Otterbein's loss to Marietta likely cost them an at-large bid. Same with ONU's loss to Otterbein.

Would love to see a second-round matchup between my CWRU Spartans and Wittenberg.

Nice matchup between W&J and Mount Union. Being a fan of another PAC school, I'll be happy to see W&J get their comeupance at the ends of the mighty Purple Raiders.

If there is any year the Presidents potentially have a shot of taking down Mount Union, it's this year. They have their best defensive unit in 4 years, allowing 9 ppg. They also have a very balanced offensive attack this year, unlike the pass-happy teams of W&J from years past. They average 32.8 ppg, but this is against very meager defenses in the PAC. Although another very impressive season for the Presidents, their lack of quality opponents in the regular season will come back to haunt them. Mount Union had numerous tests in the OAC this season and W&J played only one top 25 school, Thomas More (L 14-7). I think MUC still has too much fire power this year and will make it a quick exit for my Presidents.

MUC will beat W&J.
W&J put a 50 point whippin' on my school this year((another PAC school), but they struggled in some other games against lesser opponents. I think MUC gets it done and cruises to another title.

Great to see 4 Ohio teams in the playoffs. ONU and Otterbein should have been there too.
If CWRU wins and can stop Wittenburg (would this game be in Cleveland?)...then it's UW-Whitewater. Too bad CWRU-MOC matchup is unlikely to happen.

According to the 'match-up' show on Sunday the game would be at Wittenberg, saying the bottom team would be home team. But, that can't hold true throughout the tournament because I'm sure whomever comes out to take on UWW will have to go to Wisconsin even though they are in the top half of the bracket. If UWW were to stumble then the lower bracket winner could host as a higher seed.

cweb, I think they meant the bottom of each pair was hosting for the first round.
The selection committee chose not to publish the seeds this year (for the first time I can remember since they expanded to 28 teams). Instead, I guess they will announce who is hosting when the previous round's games are completed.

Are there live streams of the games anywhere?
How do most of the people follow what is going on watching teams etc? Especially from out of state.

www.d3football.com
Most D3 schools will post on the schedule page there if they have live stats, audio, or video of their game.

Sorry, it's on the left side titled "Scoreboard" of course.
Mouse over the little "links" next to each game to see what's available.

That is great stuff. I have a feeling I will not be watching D1 ball for much longer I can't take the BCS and the Dlll teams settle it on the field. Plus it is nice to have the home team (at least for me) Mt Union being so great for so long.Altor wrote: Sorry, it's on the left side titled "Scoreboard" of course.

I have been looking for a while to find someway to keep up with Dlll ball but it is rarely on TV. Once in a while on STO as repeat games.
Any potential upsets to stop another MUC vs UWW?
Maybe St Johns, Wesley or Linfield?

Wesley has been on the top of my D-III computer rankings for several weeks. Of course, the fact that they only play 5 D-III opponents in the regular season might skew those results some. Also, Delaware Valley is right there behind UWW and MUC too.
The St John's bracket contains #4, #5, #6, #7, #8, #10, #22, and #25 in d3football.com's Top 25 poll. I've got to believe that whoever emerges from that mess will give UWW a run for their money.

I just can't get into D III football. The fact that Otterbein is ranked, and considered to be decent disappoints me. I saw the Mount and Otterbein game, and Otterbein looked terrible. If Florida played the 22nd team in the country, I guarantee they wouldn't win 58-7.

Honestly, I think Mount is just that good...more so than Otterbein being that bad
I also, absolutely love that DIII does a playoff for the best in the nation.

Which will never happen. Whitewater, Linfield, or St. John's is going to be opposite Mount Union in the title, I figure.

St Johns was knocked out first round that was a bit of a surprise.
