It's how they got to 7-5 that sleeper was very incorrect on projecting. Not all 6-6's are created equally. You'd be an idiot (which I'm not ruling out) to think Notre Dame would be 7-5 if Crist, Allen, Rudolph, Williams, and Slaughter were healthy for the latter half of the season.

This team was as close to 11-2 as it was to 6-6. sleeper doesn't know shit and just posted that because apparently Notre Dame is bound by some divine power to go 6-6 every year. Fuck that nincompoop.

Ummmm, with a bowl win! :o

Shane Ray, the solid DE/OLB from Kansas, plays for Tim Grunhard, who started for the 1988 national championship team. A good person to have coaching...and recruiting. :D

Speaking of the 1988 team, I once took a day or so and made the 1988 Notre Dame and Miami teams on the internet for xbox. They're under sjmvsfscs08, feel free to check em out. I like to say I made them about as accurate as possible. Miami is the slightly better team.

.....he was offered a scholarship? He is committed to Missouri, where his dad played, but his HS coach was on the '88 team. So I think we have a legitimate shot.

Ha ok I thought you had something else to add after that post from a few hours ago. I thought you might have left out something about a commitment. He did say that there were only 2 schools he would listen to after committing to Mizzou, and Notre Dame was one of them. Could be a good sign.

Christian French will announce his intentions December 9th.

The Shillelagh, the wooden club that is the symbol of the USC-Notre Dame rivalry, was removed from Heritage Hall and shipped to South Bend

Hopefully it can stay in South Bend for a long time. Like 8 years or so.

He basically predicted ND would be mediocre. You were. Beating Western Michigan, Michigan and Purdue to get 7 wins doesnt make you relevant. ND is actually a mid level service academy type team. You beat one or two a year and lost to the other. Often losing to two of them and beating one!! Hang your Touchdown Jesus cap on that!!

Utah has accepted an invitation to the Las Vegas Bowl, which means Notre Dame will not be there. It was a definitely possibility beforehand.

Shane Ray has said he will take an official visit to Notre Dame. He seems to be the news story of the day. His recruitment has suddenly exploded.

Wouldn't that require playing all three every year? You do realize Notre Dame only plays Navy regularly right?

I see someone is testing the new trolling policies.

Most Notre Dame fans that I remember predicted between 7-9 wins. If we had known how many injuries we would accrue then I think we'd be thrilled with 7 wins (so far). Not only did they win 7 games but they got noticeably better at the end of the year. To me that's a sign of good coaching and great determination. Notre Dame fans have got to be encouraged by what we saw at the end of the year which was a glimmer of hope for great improvement in the next season or two.

If you're going to be a fuckwad, at least give us credit for the teams we did beat. Michigan was a loss.

Ishaq Williams' official visit is December 8. Looks like this next week or so is going to be huge for recruiting.

ISD writers say they'd be "very surprised" if Golson wasn't Irish after this weekend. He would be a big pickup, I can't imagine what a backfield of Golson-Huggins or Golson-Wood would be like.

And most surprising recruiting report of the day: Notre Dame coaches were at Chase Hounshell's house today. Hounshell is a DE and aFlorida commit, and also is from Ohio, apparently Lake Catholic HS.

The staff has now offered or talked to recruits who have committed to Florida, Florida State, Illinois, Miami, Michigan, Missouri, North Carolina, Stanford, Wisconsin. That's just off the top of my head, probably more. It appears the four decommittings (new word :) ) has invited the coaching staff to play hard ball, and they are answering. I LOVE IT.

I think they're 0-0 against "Service Acedemies" in the last four years, actually. But what is your point? Notre Dame sucks? Heard that one. The past, and passed, futility has no bearing on the bowl game, 2011, or the future.

It's probably sleeper under some other extra name of his.

So what Bowl or Bowls are the most likely destinations for ND now?

That was obviously posted before Utah accepted the Las Vegas Bowl bid.

Champs Sports, Sun, and Holiday Bowls are the 3 most likely according to that blog.

If ND can get a bowl win, it would be some good momentum for them heading into next season.

Good luck.

I would say that since they finished the season 6-2, they have a bit of momentum, and to have a bowl win to finish the season on a 7-2 run would be epic.

However, there is rumor of being somehow matched up with the likes of Missouri, Oklahoma, Nebraska. Notre Dame is an off-season away form beginning to even think about that sort of thing.

And hell no I don't pay for ISD. I just scour the interwebz since I only have two finals next week. :D

....the band has made reservations in Florida for the few days immediately after Christmas. That would mean Champ Sports

But should that not happen, the Sun Bowl says:
“Everybody’s hoping we’ll get Notre Dame, but we’re in a backup position to the Champs [Sports] Bowl.”

Folmer added, “If we got Notre Dame, I don’t think there are any ifs, ands or buts that we’d take Miami despite all the things that have happened.”
Notre Dame vs. Miami would be mouth-wateringly tasteful. :D

So here's how it is as of now:
Your rooting guide for Saturday:

If you want to play in the Champs Sports Bowl: Root for West Virginia and/or UConn to lose. Either one of them going down either takes the luster off of the Mountaineers or sends them to the BCS, either way essentially eliminating them from contention.

If you want to play in the Sun Bowl: Root for UConn to survive their trip to South Florida and for West Virginia to look absolutely dominant in victory.

If you want to play in the Holiday Bowl: Root for all of the stuff for the Sun Bowl, plus you need Washington State to defeat Washington or Oregon State to defeat Oregon. Considering the Ducks have a trip to the national title game on the line, your best bet is to pay attention to the game in Pullman at 7:00pm ET. The Cougars have actually been playing well of late, defeating Oregon State and only losing 20-13 at Cal.

They should only change the uniform colors every 15 years or so and it should only be against a #1 rated team and it should be after the pre game warm ups when they change to green and then the crowd would go wild ...

Crazy how huge WVU's final game is. Win and you have a shot at at BCS game, lose and you play in a low level bowl game. The $$ swing is incredible.

Georgia CB Ronnie Harris received an offer. He is uncommitted with his top three being Stanford, Tennessee and Louisville. He is 5'10 175 and runs a 4.45. He is a higher end three-star guy, but has the speed. He scored a 1380 on his SAT, and has garnered an offer from Harvard for doing so. He has also been offered by Auburn, South Carolina, Purdue, and much of the lower end SEC schools. He is definitely an "RKG."

Right now my top five wish list would be:

1- Christian French
2- Everett Golson
3- Savon Huggins
4- Ishaq Williams
5- Brennen Scarlett
