After taking an L at the thriller dome a month ago, Duke is looking to extend their homecourt dominance over the ACC (save Carolina) against the YellowJackets.
Tech is coming off a drubbing of Kentucky (state) and a victory at home over Wake.
Winning on the road has proved tough for Tech, but they are more prepared to win at Duke than most teams in the league.
Should be a great contest, gonna be in attendance for this one tonight, and I am expecting a nail biter.

If there has been one thing Duke has continued to be pretty consistent at over the past five or six years, despite the poor track record in the NCAAs, it's been the Blue Devils' ability to refocus after a loss and come out with a big, impressive victory. I expect this tonight.
Much like after Duke's loss at Wake a year ago, which the Blue Devils responded to with a near 30-point drubbing of the Deacons in Cameron, I think we'll see Coach K's kids come out with fire and take it to Tech. I don't see this being a 30 or even 20-point win, but I do see a solid victory in the end. Probably double figures.
Tech won't win in the Indoor.

Lawal has 2 fouls in 33 seconds of play.
Favors has 3 fouls in the first 7 minutes of the game. Why Hewitt didn't take him out after two is beyond me.
Anyway, Tech better hope they can stay close with those guys on the bench.

Refs have been a little whistle happy tonight + some pretty unnecessary fouls by both teams.

My thinking is Coach K is trying to keep guys out of foul trouble right now. But the bench has been making some pretty good plays so far.

Tech down 12 at the half.
Duke really finished out the half strong. Doubt if the Jackets will be able to climb back into this one.

duke did a great job holding down Lawal and Favors. If they can repeat that in the second half, the Jackets will lose 25+.

If Lawal and Flavors can get back into the game together and stay out of foul trouble. I think GT can make a comeback but they are going to have to stop Duke from making 3's.

Rice Jr. made a huge ass of himself. What a bitch.
On the other hand, Kyle Bird Singler went for 30 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists and shot 8-of-10 from three-point land. An amazing performance for Singler, whose 30 marked a career high and eight threes marked the second best total for a single game performance in school history, just behind Shane Battier's nine in '01 against Princeton and J.J. Redick's nine against Texas in '05.
This is the player that I saw heading into the season. A national player of the year candidate that just takes games over. He has that talent. He's obviously nowhere near NPOTY discussion this season, and won't be, but if he returns, he's going to have a monster year in 2010-11. This is what Duke needed to see from Kyle heading down the stretch. I'm hoping he's been saving his best for last. I'll sure take those couple of months of struggles from No. 12 to see a strong finish. This was in reverse last season.

Wasn't sure what was going on there in the early stages of the game. It was like they decided at the tip to referee this game like a junior high girls game. Didn't let players battle all night.
Tech hit some threes early to take the lead then stay within a few points at half, but as expected the big three from Duke (specifically Scheyer in half one, Singler in half two) picked up Duke and got them a good home win.
Its apparent that Duke is 20 points better than virtually every team they play when they play them in Cameron.
On the road it is a coin flip.

Singler went nuts last night WOW. He's one of my favorite players to watch in college basketball.
