From what I have read, offensive and colorful language is not out of character for Rahm Emanuel.

The PC police are out in force. Was Rahm using the word "retard" to disparage the developmentally disabled? Adults can discern from the context the intended meaning of the word retard. Shouldn't we have the same reactions to the word nuts, crazy, loon, kook, physco, circus freak, etc. Are we disparaging the mentally handicapped or those born with birth defects? Are we so looney (oh no) that we should demand someone should lose their job because they used one of these words in a sentence with obviously no intent to disparage some helpless group.
