Just an argument me and the guys had at work. Are prospects seeing the depth at other positions, TP being at the helm and the Offense focusing solely on him? The lack of progression a lot of people expected from him? What's your thoughts?

I don't think so, that's kind of a stupid reason to base your college choice on. Plus, at this point, Pryor is now 2 years ahead of recruits...so if there is some kind of problem, they only have to deal with him for 2 years.

I know he's no where near a complete passer yet, but as far as dual threat QB's go, he's one of the best in the country. I wouldn't mind playing in an offense with him at QB.

OSU is "suffering" this year (that's a nonsense view, in my opinion) because they are pretty stacked at EVERY position, not just QB. They've had a couple outstanding classes in a row and have built up depth as you would expect on a very good team.

^Agree. Anyone who has any knowledge about the recruiting scene knew this was going to be a down year for OSU....luckily, OSU can afford it after reeling in some very impressive classes the last few years and having most of 2009's team back in 2010.

Talent is actually down in Ohio in this particular year when compared to most years. On top of that, 3 of the 4 top players were looking elsewhere from the get go (Ware, Hicks, Heard) and the other (Anderson) has had some issues that may keep him from going to OSU (Right now he's a WVU commit, but he still could end up at OSU) OSU just hasn't done that great in state this year, but really, it was expected...a lot of kids were looking to leave the state to go to school. Plus, OSU really only has 20-22 scholarships to give this year. They stand at 19 right now, but are still waiting on Henderson, Moses, and James.

Despite not being as highly touted as year's past, I like our class. Roby looks like he's going to be a steal for us. Roderick Smith is one beast of a RB. We finally got a big WR in 6'7 Tyrone Williams. We got 4* QB Ty Graham who will give us some depth at a thing position. Louis could be a big time WR for OSU if he stays committed. Norwell is a stud OL. Christian Bryant and Corey Brown are both highly touted players. And we got a damn good kicker in Basil. And if w get Henderson, Moses, or James, we're getting a stud OL.

OSU did another good job this year, especially with addressing some needs. And if Henderson or the other guys come to OSU, this class turns from solid into pretty damn good.

As far as recruiting qb's absolutely yes Terrelle Pryor has hurt them. Have you looked at the depth chart behind Pryor? If he were to go down Ohio State is fucked and unless they land Braxton Miller in this class they'll be screwed when Pryor leaves in two years.

Despite what many buckeye fan's believe there are many recruiting guru's who don't think that Braxton Miller is a ohio state lock at this point. The kid love's the spread and is very interested in Florida and Notre Dame. Do not underestimate the appeal that Brian Kelly and Notre Dame could have to a kid like Braxton especially given that Kelly's system would suit his talent's far better than a pro style system.

Also don't give me that shit about a kid wanting to be developed into an nfl quarterback at Ohio State. If any kid was serious about becoming a nfl quarterback then Ohio State would be about dead last on his list.

It's not so much about the development of skills that lured TP to Ohio State as it was the pro style offense we run, not the run and gun tripleshoot, read optionclusterfuck like they run at UM.

OSU had QB Guiton in the last class and QB Tyler Graham this year. And also Verlon Reed, who will get a shot at QB.

And Miller is not the only QB OSU is targeting next year.

Do you think Pryor being at OSU will steer Miller away?

Tell me, what school would be first on his list? Seriously, name all the schools that just crank out NFL talent at the QB position?

A lot of factors go into making an NFL QB- college choice is a long way down that list.

I don't think Kelly's system detracts from giving a kid a shot at making the NFL either. The major concensus from NFL scouts at the Senior Bowl was that Tony Pike looked to be the most seasoned and NFL ready QB that participated.

BTW, no way is Pryor killing OSU's recruiting.

Pryor shouldn't have much of an effect on Miller's decision. He would be able to take over the starting job as a sophomore, which isn't that long to wait. He'd have a year to learn the system, adjust to the college game, and then step in and be the starter during his second year.

I don't think Pryor will effect Miller, either, based on the reasons you stated.

I just wanted to see what Tinker would say about it since he mentioned Miller going to ND, who has an abundance of QB's.

They might have something with Guiton, I agree. The kid turned down offers to Baylor, Purdue, Kansas, Iowa State, Rice, and Houston....all schools that are pretty keen on throwing the football. And those around OSU say he can rifle the ball pretty well.

I'll take a QB from Texas any day of the week. Better yet, he played at the highest division of HS football in Texas.

Dumbest question ever. He has only hurt in losing Taj Boyd last year. Not a huge loss. The biggest recruit he will help land could be Henderson today and Rushell Shell a 2012 RB who admirs Pryor for whatever reason and will probably be top ten in the 2012 class.

We would of possibly had a certain UM QB if we didn't back off of him and focus on Miller/Jones for next year.

Bottom line, if your GOOD ENOUGH, no matter what program you go to, you will develop and make it to the next level. At top programs, the coaches are all pretty darn good. But you still have to have the talent.

Reputation? Many of those teams have had MULTIPLE coaches, completely different coaching staffs. Again, its LUCK of the recruit. If they are good enough, they will make it to the next level.

I actually could give a rats ass about the NFL. The QB's OSU has had, have certainly had success at the college level, and done quite well in terms of team success.
On top of that, all one has to do with Tressel, is look at the obvious development of Troy Smith, Krenzel and yes, Pryor. All have gotten significantly better.
