I know its probably meaningless, but these are rarely seen anywhere in the world... Now droves of them are headed to California and highly visible... Wonder whats up? People always say that animals and sea creatures can predict weird things happening, think something is up?

I could see why ... they don't mention that those are humboldt squid until almost the end of the article, and even then it's a passing mention:
The last time the giant (aka “jumbo” aka “Humboldt”) squid made waves in Search came last September, when a record-breaking 19 ½-foot-long, 103-lb beast was pulled from the Gulf of Mexico.

I watched something on the discovery channel about Humboldt squid migrations. They are (or can) be pretty aggressive creatures, and will eat their own.

It was pretty funny to see the divers getting hit by the squids

Those are not real giant squid. If THOSE started showing up, I think there'd be issues.

It's kinda interesting as I remember not that long ago (maybe a month or two) how there was a pier in California that sea lions would always hangout at... like hundreds of them for about 10 years you could go and see these sea lions, then all of the sudden they just all disappeared and theres only a few that stuck around. I immediately thought that maybe the sea lions sensed something and peaced out.
goodbyeeee California, I shall not miss you (well... atleast wait until my Dad returns to Ohio from San Diego before you demise).
