I don't care WHO you lost to(Iggy and Moeller), if you have 3 losses you do not deserve to be in the top 10 when there are several teams ranked lower who are undefeated.

Well being that #2 and #3 are both undefeated, depending on quality of opponents, they could be jumped regardless of how badly they beat their opponents. However, usually the AP voters aren't smart enough to take into account the quality of opponents so I agree that Newark Catholic shouldn't be lower that #1.

Who were Benedictine's 3 losses to? They looked pretty legit the other night, even if they were playing a smaller school.

yup. Hard to believe there are that many better teams in D2. And Jefferson's 3 losses (D4) shouldn't fool anybody--they are to legit big schools. But like you said, AP voters aren't smart enough to figure that stuff out.

I've yet to see Benedictine play, but I would be one to guess that Poland could give them a run for their money. The Bulldogs are averaging 89 points per game and giving up 60 per game. They have great size this year but they run very well. Coach Grisdale has continued with the run and gun style of play and presses from start to finish, which is why the Dogs put up so many points each game. They currently have been using a 10 man rotation in which the top talent is split up between 2 lines of 5 guys. Poland has run into trouble at times this year when their opponent has come in with a good game plan for breaking the press. This was definitely the case last week when Canfield beat the Dogs 92-86. Obviously Poland will see much success around the Mahoning Valley, but they will be greatly tested if they make it to Canton for the regional. Akron Buchtel, ASVSM, and Bendictine are all solid teams this year and are more than capable of beating Poland's full-court press. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the season plays out.

CBF.....seems pretty dumb huh? I still can't understand why UA is not getting any respect this year. 13-0 with a signature win over Coffman yet Coffman is still ranked #7 and UA doesn't crack the top 10. Just more proof that these AP polls are bunch of crap and mean nothing. I actually got to see UA play 2 weekends ago and they looked very good. They play very fundamentally sound, shoot well from beyong the arc, rebound well, and move the ball very efficiently. It's quite a different game than i'm used to seeing - Poland's run and gun is a bit more exciting, but UA runs the half-court game almost perfectly.

The key to beating Benedictine is keeping them off the boards. They are "MEN"...not boys. They are a subpar shooting team, but they are very physical and pretty quick. They pretty much just throw it up on the glass and then go get it. If you can box them out and limit their attempts, they are very beatable.......but that is easier said than done.

Also, I believe that they only went 7 deep against Hiland, so foul trouble could be an issue against a good D2 school.

probably one of Hiland's coach's biggest beefs: they didn't check out these guys. granted, easier said than done.
