I watched the Jimmy Kimmel show as Jay Leno last night and Elisha Cuthbert was on it talking about her boyfriend Phaneuf. Kimmel-Leno asked her if he got traded would she not root for him(she is from Calgary, big Flames fan). I read the yahoo article about this deal and never heard of him until last night but I guess he is really good. Seems like he was the center of this deal for Toronto. I don't get into hockey until the playoffs.

Phaneuf looked like he needed a change of scenery. I think Stajan is a FA at years end, doesn't make much sense to me unless you can lock him up.

Toronto has been doing their best to get better for a while now, it just hasn't been working. We'll see if this is any help to them....

Yeah he's a UFA at the end of the season. Some people on HF are mentioning using Stajan/Mayers/Hagman to package a deal for Kovalchuck.paulspadafora wrote: Phaneuf looked like he needed a change of scenery. Toronto is worse than Columbus. I.E. they ain't sniffing the playoffs even with these additions.

I hope they can go on a run though so the Jackets can get a lottery pick. This years draft drops off after the first 3. And Toronto doesn't have their 1st pick this year. It goes to Boston. Hall, Seguin, or Fowler, I'd be happy with any of them.

Hall is a puck hog, I want him to go to Edmonton so he can play with his WJC teammate Jordan Eberle. As for Seguin he didn't play in the WJC and I haven't seen very much of him. Then there's Cam Fowler, I want the Jackets to get him so bad.

Hopefully the Pens make a push for Ray Whitney but, I doubt they'll pick him up. Carolina's GM wants a pick and a prospect in return which is too high for the pens.
