I have battled with this for several hours. And, I feel that I must say something. I want to first say that the Reynoldsburg parents and the wrestlers that I dealt with with the exception of one at the Groveport Tournament were Great! Wrestlers were very repsectful. Parents very helpful and understanding of the limited seating. But, there was one who constantly said very derogatory statements about every wrestler that went against a Reynoldsburg wrestler. He used several lets just say "very very bad" words to describe the other wrestlers. And, trust me it went the gambit. I even saw him challenge an older lady and tell her to "Relax" after accusing her grandson of doing "Roids" after being confronted. He even made a scene in the commons area again about a certain wrestler using "Roids" in front of the other family. Its very sad to see this occur. It reflects poorly on Reynoldsburg and having several friends that went to school there to them as well as current athletes and parents.

Bsfa your the one rotten apple why must someone always post this stupid stuff. I know exactly who your talking about. The roid conversation was in jest and it wasn't about that womans son, her son just happened to be wrestling at the time it was made. She was eaves dropping on his coversation and made an assumption an incorrect one at that. And you assume she has all her facts straight so you post it on here. You know what happens when you ASSume something! I could post something about the behavior of said woman and husband but I wont. And back to your title one rotten apple, its the person who starts these stupid threads. I think I'll start a threat called another bad apple. Its goes something like this..... That tournament today was great and those Groveport parents were awesome (they were) but there was this one Groveport couple who sat by this guy from Reynoldsburg and.........

PS if someone thought my kid was on roids and he wasnt I'd take that as a compliment to his hard work

"Stupid"=A parent constanly yelling inapropriate things about other wrestlers. The parent POINTED at the wrestler then out loud (ie. yelled) the comment. Eaves dropping? The only "ASS" (you have since modified your "ASSumption" word) was this person and unfortunately now you for defending someone like this. BSFA I see this is only your 3rd post please read all the post before you reply. The last statement in my post is...... read it yourself for practice. Im not defending anyone the main subject of my post was your post . Im not concerned about defending anyone or even the incident you posted about only the fact that you brought this whole thing up on the huddle. Nothing good will come out of it, look at the way were going back and forth. If we posted every incident we wittness at a high school wrestling tournament thats all we would talk about.
I agree with you one hundred percent that people who yell stupid things look stupid. Second to that is people who post about it. If you felt that strongly about this incident you should have went to your coach who then could speak to their coach. Posting it on the huddle does nothing but open a forum for people to bash each other. I have been in similar situations and have heard people say bad things at every tournament ive ever been at, this should not be the place to air them and im sure your coaches whom I respect very much would agree.

Actually its now my 20st post and just your 8th. But, who cares. As far as reading posts and practicing. Go back and re-read mine. Plus, I think it is odd that on a "forum" you are saying that I shouldn't post "stupid" things. Quite a bit that is posted here are comments, observations and etc. Which was what my post was all about. I am walking away from this thread. I made my point.

Your point and your opinion. Just so you know, Romulus has been a top poster on JJ for many years, so do not question his experience. Glad to see you are walking away, and in the future if you have a problem with a parent go talk to the coach. I'm sure the parent would have been talked to, and the situation solved. No reason to get on here and bash someone without them being aware of the problem and being able to give their argument.

If we're being honest, the premis of the thread is flawed. The fact of the matter is one rotten apple simply does not spoil the bunch. Most, if not all, programs have a fan or two that get out of line. And doesn't spoil anything, it just makes that person look bad. I've been the assistant coach of a team where a parent came out of the stands and laid hands on a high school kid from an another team. That's not a reflection on me, my head coach, my program or my school, it was a reflection on that person.

If Reynoldsburg has a fan that was out of line, I didn't see it. Things got pretty heated in the Schramm/Marerro match, but I thought it all pretty standard stuff...and I'm a Schramm guy (although I'm certainly not anti-Marerro).

Bottom line, I didn't see anything that was way out of line all day, but even if I did, unless it was a coach doing it or actively condoning it, I don't see how it could be a reflection on the program.

You must be one of those do as I say not as I do parents!!!! I am the parent who made the roid comment! Actually it was an A&B conversation and not sure why I have to defend myself but because Wingman and Romulus were nice enough to try and defend me, I feel the need! I was actually trying to console a pair of Groveport Fans whose son had just lost. He had lost to a very muscular good looking young man. I jokingly told the Groveport parents " your son did great don't worry looks like that kid is on roids anyway"! Cruiser can verify this w/ the parents if need be! I also agree with Romulus on this, if my kid isn't on roids I would take this as a compliment! Now the kindly grandmother of whom you speak( the one who was eaves dropping on the A&B conversation) turned around and yelled " he's not on f#@king roids" and then the man(her son & boys father?) yelled "He is not on roids"! To this I calmly said " if you are going to eaves drop pay better F#@king attention we are not even talking about your child!" No apology, nothing, they just turned around and continued to watch their match. Anyone who knows me will tell you that I cannot let it go. I did make a few more joking comments with the Groveport parents directed at these two in front of me. When they were sitting on the other side during the finals, I did use the word roids a few more times when I was laughing with the Groveport parents about the incident! Now as far as the finger pointing and yelling at the wrestler, and making a scene in front of the family, BSFA I call you a liar (maybe it should be BSFL)! If you have a problem with that come talk to me in person! After all you know who I am and I have no clue who you are! We could discuss this over a beer or in a back alley I'm pretty flexible like that! I said it before and I'm going to say it again " If you are going to eaves drop pay better f#@king attention"
