55 tonight! He breaks Kareem's team record for rookie points in a game, and comes within 3 of breaking Wilt's NBA record. Absolutely ridiculous, I thought Jennings could be pretty solid but to say he's exceeded anyone's expectations is an unbelievable understatement.

I picked him to be the ROY after he was drafted. NY completely blundered ANY chance they had at luring LeBron there by missing on Jennings.

Sweet. Picked him up on my fantasy team. Best move I've made so far.

Why on earth did he ride the pine in Europe, but scores 55 in the NBA?

Going to Europe has helped his game so much

Because Europe didn't want him to showcase what he had thinking he would fall in the draft and come back.

I'm a bit speechless. It seems that playing over seas really helped the kid. If he has a very successful season, I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple more kids go that route. I've never had a problem with it. I look at it as an internship.

If I got paid what he did, I would have too. There is too much risk. You have the obvious injury worry... but you also have to think about this...

You have europe pro team offering you roughly $2 mill
You have Duke offering you a scholly.

A few things can happen...
*You go to europe suck and come home with $2 mill
*You go to europe do well and position yourself to be a high pick and the chance to earn more
*You go to Duke, suck, and then go home with no money.
*You go to Duke, risk injury and enter the draft all while you could have been earning money elsewhere

I think going to Europe helped in the sense that it was a humbling experience but I don't know if it helped as much in terms of helping his basketball skills. There's a reason why he was the number 1 recruit coming out of high school, he's just a very good player. I think he could have gone to college and be just as good now. I do think you'll see more kids go overseas now but it will be interesting to see how the more mid-level players come back.

Well, the first problem with that is going to Duke ;)

As long as they don't go the Jeremy Tyler route.. he skipped his senior year of HS, went to Europe, and basically sucks. His whole team hates him.

Jennings game is more suited for the NBA than the European game. That's one of the biggest reasons why he is having more success. The other is that he was humbled and probably worked hard to get better in the offseason.

I've always followed the Bucks since Michael Redd has gone there, and Jennings has just been phenomenal this year. I would have never expected 55 but he's been great and they have to be the surprise of the year easily since everyone thought they'd be last in the East. Redd has even been out the past 2 weeks or so and it will be interesting to see how good they'll be when he comes back.

I also read somewhere that Jennings has been really smart with his money too.

He didn't buy a big house in the suburbs he lives downtown, right next to the stadium, and he also went cheap on his car. Instead of getting a BMW, Mercedes or an Escalade, he bought a Ford Edge.

I don't know if Europe was the reason for this, but dude has his head on straight.

Jennings had my respect the day he rocked a flat top. Throw in the fact that he's from my adopted hometown, Compton, and yea---I've had a bromance with him long before then.

I think the fact that when he did get in for those 20 minutes a game over there, he was playing against grown men...that might have helped him a bit.

I mean, he's fantastic. I'm a Timberwolves fan, and I felt like a gamble on Jennings might have worked out a bit better than the Rubio gamble....but it's obviously super easy to say that now.

The Bucks have a really bad roster, too...that's what makes this so awesome. I mean, they need him to give 100% every night, and he's really making them better.
