. . . are you aware that ESPN has an ombudsman? Well, they do and his name is Don Ohlmeyer. If you aren't familiar with what an ombudsman is or what one does, they are a person who is a employee of a company that acts as a neutral intermediary between the company and it's constituents, in this case ESPN and its viewers. Ombudsmen speak for the people, bring their grievances to the company, and make suggestions. So, for those that don't like ESPN all together or don't like some aspects of what they do, this is the man who speaks for you. So, if you have a complain or suggestion for the network or if you'd simply like to give them a piece of your mind, this is the guy to talk to. Here's his contact info:

I'm assuming this has something to do with this story:

good read. While ESPN won't admit it, they screwed the pooch and the Ombudman called them on it (somewhat).

Yes, that article is how I discovered (or rediscovered rather) that they have an ombudsman. I figured that with as much as people complain about ESPN on here they may be better served directing their anger to someone who may actually make a difference.

Well done article, but the song will remain the same. I was thrilled to have ESPN when it first began, as time passed however it turned out like most "reporting" outlets...full of spin and direction. I just want scores and hi-lites. I don't want my source of news in the sporting world polishing knobs and throwing others under the bus, I'll decide those issues for myself.

Unfortunately, his work as ombudsman now appears as nothing more than a figure head.

Damn that was a long article. i had to fast forward a few times, but it did make alot of sense. All a little too late for Mike Leach now though.

The Ombudsman pieces are usually pretty good. I've read them for the past few years (they don't do them that regularly)
