Don't know if this game is on up north, but it is a big one down here. State played really well at FSU and nearly came from 17 down to beat Clemson at RBC on Saturday.

They will give Duke all they can handle, and by they, I mean Tracy Smith. Guy is just like the big from BC a few years ago Craig Smith. Real wide, real physical, the type of guy that can take a game over. Even against Duke's interior, Smith should have a monster game.

Hopefully you all can see it.

Duke has turned the ball over 7 times in the first 7 minutes.

Tracy Smith (as expected) has three? maybe two monster dunks.

State putting on a 3/4 court trap giving Duke problems. Also, officials are dictating the game. Duke getting lots of whistles called on them for putting hands on shooters when they are in the shooting motion.

Tracy Smith has 10 of the Pack's 17 points

Announcers also making mention of the fact this is only the 3rd true Road game for Duke

wait, make it 12 of Pack's 19 points for Smith

It's also on channelsurfing.net for those Duke fans who are masochistic. I'm currently watching.

NC State, as I predicted, has come out looking like the top-ranked team in the country. Well not really, but you get the picture.

Duke's going down tonight.

yeah, I have a feeling Duke will lose this game as well. I have sensed it all week, and fully expect them to go down at Little John on Sat night.

For the Heels, misery loves company.

Raycom showing Chris Collins' famous 25-footer in the waning moments against NC State that kept Duke from losing its fifth straight in '96, eventually catapulting the Devils into the NCAA Tournament and setting the foundation for the dominating success Duke would enjoy in the late '90s, early 00s. What a play. Will never forget it.

People forget just how important Chris was to Duke. Coach K has called him the bridge to Duke's greatness over the last 20 years, touting him for bringing passion, intensity and fire back into the program. Love Collins, and hope he stays in Durham for a long time.

NC State can't seem to rebound the ball against Duke's size. Sadly for the Devils, the Pack aren't creating opportunities for rebounds. They are shooting 60% from three, 63% from the field.

Surely this won't last.

Duke is posting up Singler on the freshman Wood from the pack, going pretty well.

Tracy Smith posting up on anyone wearing black, and scoring.

Fabulous play is right. That might just what the boys needed heading into the break.

This could be good. Sometimes, something like that is all it takes. We'll see.

9 turnovers in the first half for Duke. That is the reason they are trailing. I don't think this will be a game Duke will be able to have a giant run to put the game away in. State plays a style that prohibits that.

Also, K doesn't seem to like the way the frosh are responding on the road (at least not Mason Plumlee). May not see much of him in the 2nd half unless things change.

Unfortunately, I'd say you're pretty spot on.

But, as I said, sometimes a shot like Nolan put in before the half can really wake a team up. Once down at the half in anti-Duke zones in the ACC, however, it's almost too much to overcome. This isn't saying that officials are involved. It's just stating the obvious. Once ACC teams and home crowds realize they have the Devils on the ropes, they step it up to another level. Sidney also has the incentive of trying not to be hanged for blowing another one, let alone to Duke.

I still feel the loss coming.

State begins on 5-0 run, up 46-38.

Mason Plumlee draws offensive foul, then Smith gets knocked down and they call a travel.

I've turned the video off -- for now -- and now am listening to Bob Harris. I've seen enough Duke basketball over the years to know what's going to happen next. I don't need to watch, too.

I'll stick with the radio.

Ball game.

This sucks. Not how I wanted what was, up until now, a pretty nice night, to end.

Even though I knew Duke was losing, I still can't take it. Bob, do something for me. Bring me back to victory.

Duke needs to be patient, get the ball deep and score inside.

The problem tonight is the defense. State just wants it more and they are getting great looks due to their ability to get post ups and kick outs.

Plenty of time left, but Duke needs to make shots, and State needs to take bad ones and miss them.

Only thing left to be decided in this game is whether or not the Pack fans rush the floor.
