What cliche's in music production, lyrics or concepts do you enjoy/hate/become annoyed by?
For me it's kids singing the chorus of rap songs. Jay-Z started the trend in the mainstream but it has since spread. That is my musical kryptonite

It used to be "Love is pain" in the lyrics. I could punch Ja Rule in the gonads for making that popular.

For some reason, when its done in good taste, I love when little kids sing the chorus of rap songs.

Yup. Thankfully it seems like it's starting to die out. What the hell will T-Pain do now on songs without it?!?!ernest_t_bass wrote: Auto Tune

Every new country music song seems like it's about about bonfires, drinking, trucks, and being a redneck, being sung by a guy who probably has no experience with any of those...

I agree! I think it's stupid when you have a 22 yr. old guy singing about watching his son/daughter going to college.Gobuckeyes1 wrote: Every new country music song seems like it's about about bonfires, drinking, trucks, and being a redneck, being sung by a guy who probably has no experience with any of those...

I dunno. When I hear some of them sing, I swear alcohol has to be involved.Gobuckeyes1 wrote: Every new country music song seems like it's about about bonfires, drinking, trucks, and being a redneck, being sung by a guy who probably has no experience with any of those...

Auto tune... it was cool when it first came out, but it allowing any joe to become an "artist" without any abilities.

I still can't understand the pure hatred towards auto-tune. To me, I think it has allowed for some GREAT songs.

It's like playing the guitar for Guitar Hero, and saying that you really just thrashed a good song.Scarlet_Buckeye wrote: I still can't understand the pure hatred towards auto-tune. To me, I think it has allowed for some GREAT songs.

when done right it creates an unbelievably catchy song. This song has been the first song I listen to any time I have fired up my Ipod in the last week or so.Soccerstud01 wrote: For some reason, when its done in good taste, I love when little kids sing the chorus of rap songs.
