With the City Tournament only 3 weeks away lets hear peoples thoughts. Also want to see if excitywrestler is on here.

my thoughts are its going to be very very interesting to see how things work out as to what weights kids wrestle.

As far as Teams and how they will place. and this is going off the dual match ups ive seen which as well all different
1. MF
2. West
3. Cent
4. Whet

Techfall----you must be smoking crack to make those comments. Better coaching?

West has 2x NCAA qualifier Dan Ritchie as head coach, in addition to my brother, Scott, on staff. If you want to give any credit for West's title in 2006, give it to Scott who was one of the main teaching technicians on that team. West also has two "sure fire" champs who will score huge bonus points. Add in a bunch of middle placers and West will be fine. No disrespect to Centennial, but I know in that dual that West was ahead in numerous bouts and lost. Again, Centennial may finish above West, but if I was betting money, I'd go with the Cowboys.

Like West, Whetstone has two solid state level kids in Tuttle and Leach. Coach Jones is a tireless worker and his kids will be ready to go. He also runs the youth program at Whetstone rec, so to say this guy isn't dialed in, well, you have to not be paying attention.

My ranks, although 3-5 could flop around. I also wouldn't be surprised to see West win it...I know the 2006 city champ team is planning on attending en force. If you continue to make uninformed comments, I will have former 103 Little Paul Maddrey unleash his duckunder on you. "Huh?"

1) MF
2) Haven
3) West
4) Whetstone
5) Centennial

TechFall wrote: West at 2nd? Ha, fat chance on that. Considering Centennial crushed West by 20+. In the words of Jim Mora "You kidding me?"

1. Marion Franklin- With Boyd leading the way, the Red Devils should have at least one more yr. at the top.

2. Centennial- Young team improving every match. Will return all but, 4 starters next yr. Also picked up Beechcroft's coach when their program got canned. An upperweight specialist, should help a young upperweight class for the years to come.

3. Brookhaven- Traditional Top 3 team. Ford anchors the Cats this year.

4. Whetstone- Usually quiet until City league. Great kids and numbers, just need better coaching.

5. West- The last "sure" team. With no other team having full line-ups West gets in the Top 5. Former coach Brian Nicola made West the best team in the City. Like Whetstone Good numbers...just need more "qualified" coaches.
Dual results and tournament results can be 2 different things techfall, but lets get the facts straight techfall (BTW west beat Whetsone handily in a dual). I would call Marion Franklin a solid favorite right now but who knows what lineups will look like come cities. Finally, tough kids and hard work made West the best team in the city league. Dan Ritchie was a state champ and a 2x NCAA qualifyer at Ohio State, so he is more qualified than 99% of the high school coaches out there. Again please try to have your facts straight before posting idiotic comments in the future.

Why not if it is true? Ask any competent wrestling person. Ask any kid on the 2006 team. Heck, ask Jason Russell.

My emotions tell me to get all worked up, but I refuse to. It is clear you have a bone to pick with Sackerdrag...however, calling him a poor coach doesn't make you a genius. It makes you an idiot.

Centennial won by 20+ points? Did those 30 points of injury forfeits help the Stars?

To clarify some things.
1. Centennial beat West in a dual.
2. West had 5 weights out with forfeits but was able to insert a backup 103 and bump up to wrestle 112 so only 24 points came from forfeits.
3. Centennial came to wrestle and won the close matches and we did not. They out wrestled us and deserved to win.

-If you believe Centennial is a better team and will finish higher at cities that seems reasonable and you are certainly entitled to your oppinion. My problem is with the derogatory way in which to referenced the West team and coaching staff. Bottom line is that this will be decided on the mat not inside of a computer. We are going to keep working hard like we have been all year.

When you say got put on his back, was there a count, or did he just roll out? I know boyd got taken down, but Back Points? Crack Smoke....I think eople often forget that this is only Boyd's 4th year wrestling as well.... It is refreshing to see some kids in the city have some heart and wrestle. Example, tourtet of centennial at 119. If he knew any proper technique, and had a little more conditioning he would be dangerous. That just comes with mat time, I'm sure he will be better in Feb by the time of the city tournament. I don' think that tourtet gets past Tuttle of Whetstone to see Boyd in the finals if Boyd makes the finals. Boyd will be at 119 for the City tourny, and 112 the rest of the year. He will be at 112 this weekend at Grandview if you want to watch him there..
One kid I like from Centennial is Hasani. He is tough as nails. I think He needs more in his arsenal than a head and arm though. Is he going 152 or 145 later this year? I heard he may even go 140!! He would be pretty big at that weight.
I also like the 130 from centennial, he is funky.

"The first time Boyd got put on his back, time ran out, so no back points." This is a comic gold statement. If it was after time ran out, it might as well have not happened.

"The second time was not long enough for any back points" Uh...ok.

I was matside, and while Tourtet made a good accounting of himself and shows definite promise it was not a close match at all by any examination.

If they wrestled 100 times, it would end similarly in my opinion.

I can't stay away. It's like a train wreck. LS174----you just got sucked in, DB!

I am fairly certain who Techfall is...disappointing. At this point, I want to just start bagging on Centennial just b/c a TechFall. But I won't. I like Coach Schaffer and Coach Howell, and they get good numbers and wrestle hard. Plus, Schaff has excellent ice cream in the summer.

I talked to Scarletto the other day and he said you rolled across your back twice and he caught you again, but time expired, so no backers. He would have won though! You were GASSING!

I told myself I wouldn't post again but like Knightflyer, I can't resist. I was initially angry about this post but I have since moved on to being amused.

Techfall,
I honestly don't care who you are or where you are from as it is obvious you know very little about the sport of wrestling. Flea Boyd is the best wrestler in the city and I believe will be a high state placer this year. Rolling across his back at the end of the period does not constitute back points in this or any other universe. I'm from way up north too (Canton). Where I come, it looks pretty ridiculous when random keyboard warriors question the creditionals and ability of state champs and state qualifyers.

I will now go "ravish in my thoughts" (probably a good idea to consult a dictionary before incorrectly using middle school vocabularly words). Have a nice day.

Sincerely,
Scott Nicola
