That's why the Vikings will win the Super Bowl!! Look what the Vikes did to the #2 offense in the league. They pounded the Cowboys and Romo couldnt do anything. Drew Brees wont be going pass happy on the Vikings D, and they definitely wont be getting over a 100 yards rushing. Advantage=Minnesota

i hope you're right. It's a bit harder to play that kind of D on the road, but today is a great day to be a Minnesota fan. The D-line accepted the challenge and played lights out which took the pressure off the rest of our young defense.
If we can play this kind of defense for 8 more quarters, we will have a much better chance of bringing the first Lombardi trophy back to Minnesota.
We're so close with all our pieces in place right now to let this one slip away. Hopefully we can get this done now while we're here and stop delaying things til "next year" as we always do....
SKOL VIKINGS!!!! Hopefully the old gunslinger has a few more tricks up his sleeve....

You are correct, but the Vikings are not the only team playing great defense right now.
The Saints held down the Cardinals to 14, the Colts looked great stuffing the run, and both the Jets and Chargers are playing great defense right now.

If defense wins championships, the Jets will be the Super Bowl champs.

I hope you're right, although to be fair, I wouldn't necessarily characterize MIN as "defense wins championship", I'd say it would confirm that the majority of time, BALANCED TEAMS win championships.
I just hate watching games decided by whomever gets the ball last....so bring on MIN and NYJ!

Minnesota has not played that great on the road this year. The Saints Defense creates turnovers and we know how AP and Brett Farve can get turnover happy. The Saints are better offensively than the Vikings, The Superdome will be insane, Brett Farve will blow his wad and The Saints are on their way to the Superbowl.

Big difference between the Saints offense and the Cowboys. Romo has been known to play bad in the playoffs and have guys not step up around him which happened yesterday. The Saints and Colts are both better offensive teams with much better QB's.

It should be a great game but I'm going with the Saints.

Defense usually wins championships
.....the team that scores the most points in the championship games ALWAYS wins the championship
Minnesota's d line is unbelievable....but you have to somehow factor the crowd being against the Vikings offense and pumping up a Sainst defense that kept teh 51 point team to a far less number
There are so many possible big factors to this game.

Peyton vs the sexy Saints or super Farve.....there is your story
The NFL already gave the Jets a big favor by moving their final game to the night (which proved the following week not to matter)....but it makes the NFL look bad IMO....Sexy Rexy has had his good run and the Jets are a great story....but it's Peyton time in the NFL in 2010.

I am not sold on the Vikes, because I am still waiting on that 4 int game from Favre. If it doesn't happen, they will be hard to beat.

Interestingly, Brett has only has one multiple interception game all season. I wonder when the last time that happened (if ever)?wes_mantooth wrote: I am not sold on the Vikes, because I am still waiting on that 4 int game from Favre. If it doesn't happen, they will be hard to beat.
