Entertaining to stroll through the 10+ pages, watching the hour it took before the news broke on ESPN. Until then everyone wanted the Original poster to be banned!! lol

So one of their posters talks about Kiffin coming in to a "...storied program" and leaving after just 1 year. Do you think of Tennessee as a "storied" program? I've never thought they were that high on the list of legendary programs.

I don't think of Tennessee as being on the same level as ND, Alabama or Michigan. But I do think they've had a pretty good program. Storied might be a stretch, but probably not to their fans.

I'm actually extremely impressed that the guy had the the scoop a while before it happened. The same thing would happen on this message board if something radically true were posted before it was known to be true.

Except on this message board the "inside scoop" is always wrong.

Yeah but all we get is crap like "he is not going pro" ten minutes before someone goes pro.

Hopefully people would not be as stupid here as they are on that site. LMAO.

The guy posts a link later to ESPN and still morons saying not believing it. That thread was hilarious.

That's because they aren't. Most fans have an over-inflated sense of identity when it come to their schools. The only schools that really can't overstate their storied histories are Notre Dame and Michigan (they may not be very good now, but they are the most storied programs in college football). USC is definitely more of a storied program than Tennessee. Most fans just don't understand their school's place in the college football world.

I guess we'll find out when that finally happens.

:D Yeah yeah yeah. I deserved that one.

But I still maintain that if someone on here were to post something like Jim Tressel leaving for Tennessee, wait until tomorrow, everyone on here would freak out until it's official, the same way those fans did.

We can all think we're better than them, but we're really not.

They are #9 in all time wins. I guess it depends on your definition of storied programs, but I think that qualifies. (I don't know if I would include them if I made a list of storied programs, but I wouldn't argue with someone else who did.)

Ha ha, I actually agree with you for the most part. The only thing about the Tennessee situation is that Kiffin spent so much time at USC. I wasn't really shocked, even though I don't think it was the best move USC could have made. Tressel going anywhere else is a little different because there's no "home" for him to go that is even a lateral move.
